Antique 1907 AKC Champion Bull Terrier Oil Painting on Board, Folk Art. This original oil on board is quite striking with the black and white figure of the champion bull terrier in its shadow box frame. Champion Edger Côté Peer, AKC S13 #7833 of 1907. Back was replaced but I believe frame is original to the painting. Painting has a small repair spot. This dog just jumps out at you. Frame measures 16″ by 14″. The painting probably dates to the mid 19th century and is painted either a cut down artist board or on canvas and then laid down on board. This offering is for an antique mid 19th Century Hand Painted Chair Crest Rail. The wooden crest rail has a wonderful floral paint decoration that includes three tulips at the left side. It looks like the current surface, while quite old, is over an earlier green paint but it has achieved a very nice surface and patina in it’s own right. The length of the rail is app. 15.75 and the height is app. 3.75 The condition is excellent with minor wear to the surface but no cracks, breaks or repairs.
