Antique framed oil painting Marsh Bird Egret Heron – Abeles Little Rock Arkansas. This is an original antique oil painting of a white egret or heron standing in a marsh. The feathers of the bird are intricately textured to look like feathers. It’s an outstanding effect. The painting is on some type of paperboard. I do not see a signature but the back has a label on it that says. Picture frames & artists material Little Rock Ark. I think this dates to late 1800s based on frame. Charles Abeles started his art business in 1880 and incorporated in 1891. He built a large store on Scott Street in 1901. The store focused on art wares and decorative paintings. From 1921 who’s who Little Rock. Born at Kracow, Poland, April. Son of Tobias Abeles. Rose Ringelhauph, at Little Rock. Abeles have two children. Has traveled extensively over. Of Little Rock Lodge No. Overall size is ca 28 x 16. There are some slight imperfections due to age such as chips on the frame, light crazing in the paint, and chips off some of the feathering.
