Painting depicts a stunning panoramic Scottish Highlands landscape scene of Thurso near Oldfield 1860. This scene is highly detailed with expansive historical view including homes, churches, people, and animals. Very rare to find such early detailed historical paintings such as this. Painting is signed lower right B Wilson 1886. Painting measures 18 X 24 inches and comes in its original antique frame measuring 22 X 28 inches also. This is one of the nicest detailed panoramic folk scenes I have ever offered! This piece would make a fabulous addition to anyones fine Scottish folk art collection or home. Painting had some previous restoration with varnish which would have cost a considerable amount alone to complete. Offered here without reserve is this wonderful oil on canvas unframed folk art painting of a log cabin in the woods, with its split rail fence, and a man ostensibly chopping wood. The painting itself, not counting the contemporary frame, measures 24″ x 17″, is unsigned and clearly primitive in its execution. Crown and Anchor is a simple dice game, traditionally played for gambling purposes by sailors in the Royal Navy as well as those in the British merchant and fishing fleets. This is a the French version the crown has been replaced with a symbol of the sun, and is called Ancre, Pique, et Soleil (“Anchor, Spade, and Sun”). Circa 1870s in age. Simply made from a section of sail, and naively painted. The piece has been sympathetic mounted and framed. Please get in contact as that can be arranged. This is a delightful antique portrait of a child with a cat. Painting measures 30″ x 25″ and is displayed in a molded gilt wood and gesso frame measuring 38 1/4″ x 32 1/4″. Condition: Relined, retouches throughout, and craquelure. Some paint loss to canvas, upper left. Frame shows some wear to the gesso around the edges and to the outside of the frame. 19th c. Antique M. Peaslee American Folk Art Painted Leather Fire Bucket

Nice mid 19th century leather fire bucket with early paint and lots of character the name M. Peaslee painted in gold on bucket , which means this was a bucket that a home owner would have in their home as their civil duty to be part of the “bucket brigade” someone in the town would signal the home owners and everyone would help try to put out ones fire , was typical to have your name painted on your bucket so when you were done you could get your bucket back. I had this looked at by a serious collector for their opinion was told Circa 1840’s-1860’s Origin more then likely Philadelphia by the shape and size and way it was made. Condition : paint is original, a lot of surface cracks on leather and in paint , on one side the hoop that attaches the handle to the bucket has split over the years so only one side of the handle is attached, can be fixed if wanted to by a leather worker , there is a crack on the front of bucket and has been repaired in the same time period this was made please look at all pictures. 19th C Folk Art classic, 19th C hand carved figural cane, original paint

Here is an American folk art classic… A 19th century 36 3/4 cane / walking stick with a hand carved waist high figure of a man bearing its original paint throughout… I note that in addition to the paint on the man, the shaft of the cane itself bears its original flame grain red wash. If there is an apology to be found anywhere is simply the two dings to the backside of the shaft as shown in my last picture.
