This is a Large size Retablo with an original Painting from Cusco Peru, done in the 17th century Baroque Style. The painting is in the middle and a large wood niche with painted roses and milagros around the edges. This image is of the Jesus Christ revealing the Sacred Heart with in his chest. Despite the painting coming from Peru, the wood retablo and decorative boarder was made in Patzcuaro Michoacan where the painting was incorporated into this nicho. It would make a wonderful gift for the devout person in your life, or a great addition to your Mexican Folk Art Collection.. 12 1/2 inches tall by 10 inches wide and 2 inch deep. I love the size of the board, 13 1/2 inch by 8 1/2 inch. The checker board is nicely constructed out of one piece of wood, with a trim surrounding the whole board. Please study the pictures to see the condition. No real issues other than normal wear from age giving it a great old look. Paint has darkened from age.
