This offering is for an antique circa early 1800’s folk art hand painted tin toleware can. The can measures app. 3″ by 3.25″ by 2.25 and the condition is excellent. The tin is not signed or dated but was likely made in Pennsylvania in the mid 19th century. All four sides and the top of the lid are decorated, with Distlefink birds on the top, front and back. The end panels have a simple floral design. The three birds are all distinctively different and the lid also has a small heart painted above the birds tail. The surface is outstanding with overall fine crazing and a beautiful deep untouched patina. There is minor wear with a tiny bit of chipping on the edges as seen in our close up photo’s. If additional photo’s are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them. WE USUALLY SEND OUR INVOICE WITHIN 1 HOUR OF THE AUCTIONS ENDING.
