Very early, phenomenal surface. Hand carved, well made. Could be late 1800s or early 1900, I dont know. Looks like black paint and the heart in the center is some sort of paper material applied to the wood. Best one Ive ever seen. 9 1/4 inches tall. 7 1/2 inches wide. This painting is unsigned and dates to the early 1900’s measuring in its frame 10.25 x 12.5 inches the painting measures 7.75 x 10 inches. Its gold frame appears to be original and is a favorite style of mine nicely complimenting the work. Painted in a folk / naive manner this early work has nice visible texture to the birds head and tail. Over the years a considerable amount of dirt and grime has built up on the work dulling the colors apparant in the images, a good clean would benefit greatly! Very Nice Americana Folk Art US Civil War Era Hand Painted Regimental Eagle Drum

For sale is a very nice US Civil War era Folk Art Americana hand painted eagle regimental drum which shows a wonderful eagle and flag motif. The body measures approximately 10 1/2 inches high by approximately 15 1/2 inches across. The bands make it a little bit bigger of course. It is missing the skins and would have to be re-skinned. It does however come with the original rope and grommets to hold the bands on. It has a really great look and would be a great centerpiece in any Folk Art Americana or Civil War era collection.
