Folk Art Antique Paint Decorated Pantry Box

Please read – This pantry box was damaged and has been repaired. The rim of the box has losses and has been stabilized and glued in places. The rim of the top has a crack that was stabilized. With the top on the box, it looks and displays wonderfully. The slanted check pattern appears on four sides of the box. The surface is a nice original crusty oxblood red/brown. Rare Antique AAFA Early Folk Art Wood Rocking Horse Paint Decorated Crates

What a unique piece this piece was found in an old Barn In beautiful Pennsylvania. The rocking horse is in great condition with no damage but the horse does exhibit some minimal ware. The horse measures 34 1/2 long by 12 wide by 20 tall. The horse is one of a kind and was hand made of old wooden crates with nails and flat head screws along time ago this is a beautiful piece suitable for any antique collection. Beautiful Small Antique Paint Decorated Dome Top Document Box Folk Art

Paint decorated miniature dome top trunk or document box. This is a really nice box! The box retains its original lock plate and hinges but the hasp has been replaced. It is lined with old wallpaper. It is constructed with very light, thin pine and a combination of old and some newer nails. The decoration is a later (newer) artisan addition but looks as old as the box. There is a repaired crack in the top securely glued. It measures 10″ long x 5-1/2″ tall x 5-1/2 deep (front to back). Miniature paint decorated chest with a cut-out bracket base and red and yellow swag and tassel decoration. This box reminds me of painted tinware. The box is a reconstruction made from vintage oxidized pine. The black base paint is original and the paint decoration is a newer addition. It has brass hinges and bumps and bruises and wear.
