Description & Condition: Up for sale is this antique circa 1850 American folk art portrait of a gentleman in a dark suit. It is done in charcoal on paper and depicts him with a white shirt and black tie. It measures 10″ by 7″ sight size and is in good condition with a small water stain in upper left corner. It should be removed from the frame and cleaned. It is in a fine original gilt wood and gesso shadow box frame that measures 15″ by 12″. It is unsigned but unexamined out of frame.
