Born in Ohio, Kovener was a self-taught folk artist, a playwright, and a writer for the New Yorker Magazine. S he exhibited her work at the Musee d’Art Naif in France, the White House, and the Folk Art Gallery in Massachusetts. Her work has won numerous awards and has been reproduced by Hallmark Cards and Unicef. Her work is in the collection of the Akron Art Museum. This whimsical watercolor is signed lower right, measures 13″ x 9.75″ and is in good condition with toning of the paper. In an older frame and mat (mat is stained).
