Offering a wonderful 11 7/8 tall (excluding handle), early to mid 19th century, round wooden firkin in early, worn, pumpkin painted surface, with lots of character and age appropriate wear. The firkin is an awesome example, with a 1 1/8″ – 7/8″ tapering bentwood bail handle, staved construction, 4 bentwood bands with elongated “fingers” secured with handmade rosehead type nails. It is a beautiful, early firkin with a wonderful and worn painted surface. Nice simple form and lines… DIMENSIONS – 11 7/8 high to top of lid, approx. 17 3/8″ high to top of handle, 11 3/8″ diameter lid, 11 7/8 diameter bottom. Hand carved old wooden angels pair, 16 1/2 tall x 11, original paint, Folk Art

These were a gift many years ago and the exact maker and origin is unknown. However, I was told at the time that they were hanging on the wall of an old church possibly in Pennsylvania. Each angel measures 16 1/2″ in height and 11″ across the widest part of the angel wings. Both angel’s paint is faded as you can see from the pictures. However, the original cerulean light blue, roseate and gold colors are still quite visible. Both angels have unique, beautiful glass/porcelain eyes. The eyes add a life-like quality to the angels. During their time the wings have been repaired, possible multiple times, as seen from the rear view pictures however, from the front view the repairs are not so visible. Will Kirkpatrick WEK Carved & Painted Folk Art Wooden Fish (2) 10L Brook Trout

A pair of Vintage Carved and Painted wooden Fish in the form of (2) 10L Brook Trout, Will Kirkpatrick, Hudson, MA, 20thC. Will is a highly-regarded painter and master carver known primarily for his traditional Shorebird Decoys, among other interests. See Internet for further information on the artisan. Many of Kirkpatrick’s earlier carvings have been discontinued, including all his fresh and saltwater Fish species carvings. Description: A near pair of solid, well-carved Folk Art representations with strong attention to detail, vermiculation, realistic colors and hand-rubbed finish. Delineated gills, mandible, fins, etc. Both are stamped on the underside: WEK. Condition: This Kirkpatrick Trout pair is in Very Good to Excellent, as-made condition. EARLY 19TH C TURNED WOODEN BOWL IN OLD FOLK ART BLUE RED YELLOW & GOLD PAINT. We don’t often seen paint decorated wooden bowls. Grungy old paint surface with nice deep patina. A NICE EARLY SHALLOW BOWL WITH A COMPLEX CARVED TOP RIM. Great shrinkage, the bowl is 10 1/2″ by 10 3/4″ and is 3 tall. Typical wear and imperfections with age. There are a couple of old shrinkage lines in the bottom as seen in the photos and one smaller line at the rim. All are pretty tight and stable, (see photos). Low starting Price and NO reserve.
