Darling folk art oil painting by David Ellinger depicting a quiet wintery village landscape on a hillside; a very tranquil image. Ellinger’s folk art landscape paintings are among his most desirable subjects and highly sought after; this is a fine example of his work in beautiful condition. Ellinger was a Pennsylvania Dutch folk artist and antique dealer, who often painted on velvet and cloth rather than standard artists’ canvas. Painting is framed in a hand painted frame which is probably original to the painting. Measures framed 24-6/8″ tall x 28-5/8″ wide & painting is approximately 19-1/2″ tall x 23-1/4″ wide. Condition of the painting is very good (just to note a painting highlight appears to be a chip but it is a part of the painting, see next to last picture). Frame has the expected use wear.
