Painted in the Bonad tradition dating back to the 1600s (and earlier), the 2 scenes depicted relate to Christmas: The adoration of the Magi and the Flight into Egypt. It includes lots of fraktur text describing the scenes and even has decorative end borders that have been folded over on the back. The work is very colorful, stable and detailed under a shiny coat of yellowed varnish (with age crazing). There is a vertical loss (from fold or crease) on the wise mans horse.
