This painting with the frame weighs 1.6 pounds and measures 17 and 1/2″ wide by 13 and 1/4″ tall by 1 and 3/8 thick. The painting by itself measures 15 and 5/8″ wide by 11 and 3/8″ tall. The painting is in good condition with some wear present including a small tear on the right side which I have shown with the photographs that I have provided. There are no repairs. Inger – Signed & Framed 20th Century Oil, Cornish Harbour Street Scene. A charming Cornish harbour scene in vivid organic tones. Well presented in an ornate gilt effect frame with detailing. There are light scuff marks and two minor losses to the lower right corner and left edge of the frame, which have been retouched. Otherwise the condition is fine. Size: 28.3 x 38.2cm (11.1″ x 15″). Framed Size: 36.8 x 47.3cm (14.5″ x 18.6″). Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Henry E. Foster (1921-2010) Mid 20th Century Oil, Village Street Scene

Well presented in a dark wood frame with gilt effect detail. The condition is typical for a picture of this age. With some minor discolouration and surface dirt. Marks and abrasions to the substrate, most noticeably to the upper left corner. Scuffs to the frame. From a fine collection of varied and diverse works by the artist Henry E. He worked in a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolour, collage and pastel. His style ranges from traditional studies to modern compositions. His parents were both musical, and Henry began to paint at the age of eight. Outstanding in both art and mathematics, he studied engineering drawing at Royal Enfield, and went on to attend the Central Technical College, Birmingham in 1942, where he excelled. Gaining a local reputation as an artist, he often appeared with his paintings in the Works Magazine. He rarely parted with his own works, often reworking them, except in cases of commisions. Holding strong views on many painters, he didn’t like the Pre-Raphaelites. A real animal lover, his work includes country scenes, churches, and depictions of the area around Hopwood, Worcestershire. Working in a variety of media, sketching in charcoal, he often used a combined approach, painting many pictures several times. The artist at some point in her life was employed by the man’s parents as a housekeeper which during that time period in America this was a fairly common form of employment. It looks to be a typical small town. When I walked into the game room as soon as I peered at the painting it captured my attention much like how most of us crane our necks as we drive by an accident on the highway. It is just hard not to look. The artist according to the man ended up in some kind of asylum or institution later in her life before she passed. This qualifies as one of the more unique pieces of art that I have brought home. Measures approx 45″ inches tall by 39″ inches wide including the framework, which is approx 3 inches wide. Description & Condition: Up for sale is this antique circa 1930-40 folk art painted wooden speed limit street sign. It reads ” SPEED LIMIT 25 Miles Per Hour Per Order Chief of Police”. It has some surface grime and light wear from weathering and 3 vertical holes from mounting but is really in pretty good condition. It measures 23″ by 11 1/2″. The letters are black on a white ground and is a one sided sign. One of a kind! Please view all the photos and if you have any questions please ask.
