1800s Large Shaker 4 finger oval bentwood pantry box in original blue paint. It is made of maple and pine with tack and peg construction. Condition: Box is the one of the oldest I’ve seen, as long ago, some of the wooden pegs were replaced by snip nails, and they have rusted out over the years as well leaving dark holes. There are splits/chips around. All that being said the box is solid as a rock, and very tight… The interior is clean and very smooth over many years of use. 11.5″ X 8″ X 5 Tall. Great for the bottom stacker. Please see my other auctions for more great pieces of early Americana & folk art. I have tons of period painted frames, so if looking for any certain size, please let me know.
