Antique SMALL PAINT DECORATED BITTERSWEET TRAY AAFA Primitive Folk Art. Wonderful little tray found in Lancaster County, PA. Probably first or second quarter 20th century. It measures approx 8.5 long. Glued joints and white petal decoration on black trim all on a ground of dry, fiery bittersweet paint. Aging varnish over the trim decoration has left the majority of the petals a buttermilk yellow color. Dusty with staining and a few hairlines in the bottom board. Any questions please ask. Many of our offerings are. Fresh to the market from local estates in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Late 19th century folk art oil painting on wood panel depicting three children by the shore line. The children appear to be playing a game of horse riding-the older girl is carrying on her back a younger child who has lost one of her shoes. And is holding up a bunch of flowers. The boy to the left of the painting is holding the reins. The frame measures 23. Wide x 28 1/2. The painting measures 17 1/2. Condition notations: Surface grime, craquelure, toning, grime. The wood board upon which the painting is done appears to have been found material and has a raised area mid-right side edge which has some sort of fasteners, as shown last two photos. There is some minor paint loss on this area as shown. Period frame with appliqué cartouche corner spandrels. The frame retains it. S original gilt surfaces; there is minor wear and narrow finish loss as shown mid- left side. Aafa Ooak Folk Art Antique Primitive Garden Seat From Doors Alligator Blue Paint

AAFA OOAK FOLK ART ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE GARDEN SEAT FROM DOORS ALLIGATOR BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful one of a kind garden seat made from old doors. It’s an adorable seat with crackly / alligator paint, lots of patina and a great look!! It is blue with layers of paint so it has that thick, many layers look to it. The paint is really chippy and peeling and you should expect some more of the paint to come off in transit or when you pick it up. There are areas where there blue paint, then a little darker blue paint, then some greenish paint and some areas where there is very little paint with wood showing and just a little crackly paint. The seat itself is an old unpainted board with a little scalloped edge under the seat! The grain is all lifted on the wood board as it was likely outside for a long time and was not painted. It’s a very nice decorative piece for any Primitive collection! This would look great in a perrenial garden setting. This is truly a one-of-a-kind item. The step measures 47″ H (to the back) x 30″ W x 18.5 D (at base). The seat is about 18.5 off the floor. We don’t know the age of this item. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. We will do our best to answer your questions. Huge Antique WEIRD CHILDREN Photo Tint PAINTING Portrait Primitive FOLK ART Vtg

I recently acquired it at an estate sale of a woman who was an antique dealer for many years. I’m certainly not an art expert, so I will attempt to describe it as well as I can, but please ask any questions you might have. The clothing appears to be painted, but I don’t see or feel any brush strokes on the faces. However, the faces do look painted, just no obvious brush strokes. The surface that the portrait is on doesn’t feel like canvas. It’s’hard’, but’bumpy’. The faces do look that’s what they could be. The clothing has some brush strokes, so they might also be hand tinted, then perhaps some paint was added. I just can’t tell for sure. The picture is huge, with a framed measurement of 34″ x 27 1/2″. The frame has a few scratches, but nothing significant. There is a signature at the bottom, but it’s so very faint that I can just barely make out that it’s a signature at all. I have no idea what it says, though. There are a few scratches near the bottom of the picture. This is just weird enough that it’s extremely cool! I mean, really, who wouldn’t want this hanging over the mantel. Guaranteed, this will be the focal point of any room, and its sure to be a conversation starter with any social group you are entertaining! ANTIQUE multi DRAWER PRIMITIVE APOTHECARY with OLD GREEN Paint. FOLK ART

Early dovetailed wooden apothecary or spice chest with old Green paint. This chest measures aprox. 18″x9″x11 and is made of Pine. The drawers do stick a little but could probably be fixed easily enough by waxing or shaving a couple. This makes a beautiful display piece in an old Farmhouse style kitchen. Depicting a large whale and three masted ships in the arctic regions this oil on wooden board has all the characteristics of primitive art. This antique oil on panel painting was painted and signed by the artist R Costa on the bottom right of the painting. Framed in its original period frame this piece is believed to date to the 1820’s -1880’s due to style and materials. The high skyline with clouds and icebergs would suggest the arctic circle for a backdrop location. Signed bottom right: R Costa I did locate another painting by the same artist: Whale with a Long Tail, painted by ships cook R. 1840 which is currently housed in the Shelburne Museum. This would make a great addition to your eclectic home, shop or restaurant decor. MEASUREMENTS Framed painting measures 18.5″ wide by 16.25″ tall by 1.25 deep and weighs 3lb 9oz. Painted panel measures 14″ by 11.75″ CONDITION This painting is in nice condition considering age. There is some chipping to the oil paint, there appears to be a paint smudge down near the bottom right and the painting would definitely benefit from a professional cleaning (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
