Primitive Antique Folk Art Soldier Whirligig, Hand Carved, Painted. Originally part of a larger piece, this folk art soldier whirligig appears to be broken off a stand. Hand carved with visible tool marks and original paint that may have been touched up (gold areas). Soldier has a wonderful handlebar moustache, Tin hands and à tin hat. He may have had an ornament on top of hat, long broken off. Wood is splitting in some places. Found in Idaho barn, could use a further cleaning. This is a beautifully proportioned miniature blanket chest in early grain painted surface. The dimensions are: 13″ wide x 8″ tall x 5-1/4 deep (front to back). It features tiny square cut nail construction, delicate top and bottom moldings, a beautifully cut-out base, brass hinges, and the original lock box. The surface is guaranteed old and original. RARE Antique Primitive Early American Folk Tramp Art Heart Wood Picture Frame

Very unusual and rare piece of Early American history! This tramp art frame is a great piece of folk art, with wooden hearts on each corner and splayed wooden pieces coming out from each side of the frame, each one hand carved. It is pretty deep, so it could have originally been used as a shadow box for a mourning wreath or something else. Hangs horizontally, but could be changed to hang vertically. Measurements: 17″ tall x 20″ wide x 2 deep. Inside of frame: 9.5″ x 6.5″. Condition: In as found condition. Will need a back, wire, and glass for framing. Also, missing half of one of the hearts. One of the pieces on the sides moves and it may be missing a decorative piece on the side, hard to tell. For its age, it is actually in pretty decent shape.
