Mr Davies was known as “The Male Grandma Moses” and all of his paintings are in the same New England folk art naive genre style. They feature scenes from his home state New Hampshire and other New England states. This painting is signed by artist on front and titled “In the Old Days” on label attached on back. Hand painted Oil on masonite. The painting itself measures 18″ by 24″ and comes in original gold gilt 22″ by 28″ frame. The frame has some damage but the painting is in original condition with no repairs and could use a light cleaning (a bit yellowed). Kennedy Galleries is one of the oldest galleries in the United States dating back to 1874. For over 125 years it was known as being the foremost authority on American Art. Pioneer economist and philanthropist Roger Ward Babson (see internet) a member of a prominent Gloucester Massachusetts family whose American roots were established in 1637. The painting has remained in the possession of the Babson family since Rogers passing. 1920’s Era Wood Hand Made & Painted Covered Wagon Primitive Folk Art. This Folk Art Piece was originally made sometime during the 1920’s, it was made by a friend of the family for the original owners grandfather for when he was a child. This piece was expertly crafted as you can tell especially with the animals and the the driver. There is some paint loss and the mans hat front is cracked. This piece is all wood except the canvas cover on the wagon the mans hat and the animals ears & tail these are made of leather. ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE AAFA FOLK ART WALL SHELF RACK ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT SCALLOPED. The cabinet measures: 17 W x 26 H x 8 D. Up for sale is this wonderfully folky wall shelf. It’s a wonderful Primitive blue color. It appears to be all original paint. We don’t know the age of this little shelf. The paint is patina-ed, worn, aged, edge worn and dry, rusty, scuffed and marked. It has wood undertones and iron markings as you can see in the pictures. There are a couple of holes in the back where the cabinet was hung on the wall. There are nails throughout the cabinet and they are old and rusty and most of them are small and appear round. From the nail holes there are dark rust stains and rusty colored runs. There are nicks, dings, edge wear, and chips but nothing you wouldn’t expect. It’s so cute! We will do our best to answer your questions. Please look at the photos for a more accurate description and detail and ask lots of questions if needed. AAFA EARLY FOLK ART ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WALL CABINET CUPBOARD MUSTARD PAINT GLASS. Up for sale is this adorable wall cabinet or cupboard. It’s a wonderful mustard color with a glass door. It has a single door and scroll top sides. The cabinet measures 21.5 H x 13 W x 7.25 D. This cabinet would work nicely as a medicine cabinet in a bathroom or just as a nice display piece on the wall. The cabinet is old, but we don’t know how old. The paint is old and crackled here and there. The door pull to open the door is a little metal piece slide latch and catch. The hinges are small Shaker style hinges. Inside there’s two shelves. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones.
