1920’s Era Wood Hand Made & Painted Covered Wagon Primitive Folk Art. This Folk Art Piece was originally made sometime during the 1920’s, it was made by a friend of the family for the original owners grandfather for when he was a child. This piece was expertly crafted as you can tell especially with the animals and the the driver. There is some paint loss and the mans hat front is cracked. This piece is all wood except the canvas cover on the wagon the mans hat and the animals ears & tail these are made of leather. Weir Signed Raccoon Folk Art Paintings. Available for sale today are a pair of J. Weir Signed Paintings on Reclaimed Wood. Each painting depicts a pair of raccoons. Paintings are done in thick paint layers that almost give a 3d effect to the artwork. CONDITION: The larger painting comes in wonderful condition with no paint loss while the smaller painting does has some paint chips on both raccoons nose and face areas and it also has a hairline paint crack around the bottom raccoons nose It shouldn’t be to hard to restore this piece, but even with the paint loss it still looks adorable! Each painting is signed by the artist in the bottom right corner. Size: The larger piece measures 21.75 inches by 8″ inches and the smaller piece measures 16″ inches by 7.25 inches. Condition is good Canvas mounted on board a couple of light rubs to the canvas around the upper left but painting displays Super as is. The period gesso frame is in very good condition even the decorative embossed border has no damage! Frame measures 13-1/2″ tall by 16″ wide. Painting size is 9-1/2″ tall by 12″ wide.
