Up for sale is this large vintage landscape painting, a lake or river scene with a moose in the water in front of rolling hills and trees. Signed By Dan Smith. It is accompanied by a note saying it was found in Avery County, Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, near Grandfather Mountain. It also says it was painted with root base paints, I wouldnt know how to determine whether that is true or not. Measures about 48 x 16. There are some scratches and wear both to painting and frame. Painting needs a cleaning, there is also quite a bit of texture, like crackelure present. Please view all 12 photos to help judge condition. Appalachian Landscape Deer Oil Painting SIGNED LOLA JOINER KENTUCKY ARTIST

NEVER be afraid to make an offer! Pretty folk art oil painting signed by Kentucky artist Lola Joiner. I believe this is a very early work of hers as it’s on board rather than canvas and cannot be found in a print version as well as looking less refined in style than her more recent pieces. Her earlier pieces were painted on board. It does have some scrapes on the surface, but they do not involve the paint – it looks more like if it were cleaned up and sealed varnish, acrylic spray sealer??? That they would literally disappear. Looks like these scrapes/rubs are on whatever it was sealed with by the artist. Not cleaning it up, you’re getting it as found in the old farmhouse, dust and all. Painting is 16″ tall and 20″ wide without the frame. I’ve included super large photos so you can zoom in on them to see these areas of scraped/rubbed sealer, they do show because of how I made sure bright light are directed on them, but they’re not really noticeable when just looking at it hanging on the wall. Please see my other items for more neat stuff! A blue shirt in a size 12 and I send a red dress….. You get the idea! Vintage Landscape of a Mountain Farm. Folk Art Oil Painting by Thekla Knierim. Simple folk art landscape. The only Thekla Knierim I could find reference to on Google lived in Indianapolis, and died in 1983 at 94 years of age. Appears to be a homemade frame of thin wood nailed to the edges of the canvas. Measures 15.5″ x 13.5″. Back of canvas has some spots. They do not show on the front of the painting. Canvas could be tightened and cleaned a bit. See pics for details. 19thC Antique Barn Country Landscape Folk Art Painting Frame Martan

Beautiful antique folk art style painting. Painting is framed in a beautiful wood and plaster frame. Frame shows damage and has been painted gold. The painting was held in place by tape which has also left residue on the backside of the frame. The tape is no longer securing it so it will need some work (or new tape) to fit securely in frame. It looks to be signed A. Possible water damage stain on back but no water damage visible on front of painting. Frame measures approx 18×14.5.
