This offering is for an antique circa 1930’s to 40’s folk art hand painted sign. The sign reads COUNTY RECORDER on one side only and it appears to have been connected to a post at some point. The length is app. 16″ long and 12″ high. The sign is made of heavy metal which I think is probably sheet iron. The condition is excellent as seen in our photo’s with no bends, breaks, dents or repairs. The painted surfaces have minor losses as should be expected but nothing severe. Antique 1835 Folk Art Tool Box, Coffer, Chest Orig. Paint, Forged Iron Hinges. Early 19th Century Tool Box or Coffer with Forged Iron strapping and inside storage box. Dated 1835, box has all original paint. Large wide dovetails, early nails and hinged, Lock but no key. Its an unusual almost square shape and can be used as a stool or low bench. Inside is a hinged storage box. All original patina, boards are wide and early. Believed Scandinavian or Eastern US origin. A fantastic folk art Coffer. Antique Game Rack Pennsylvania Dutch Tulip Paint Carved Wood Iron Hooks Folk Art

An antique wall-hanging game, fowl, or herb drying rack. Handmade and hand painted milled wood with a carved crown and five original embedded wrought iron hooks. The dealer we bought it from said it was probably late 1800s. We have seen closely similar racks identified as Pennsylvania Dutch and this rack shows a style of tulip painting that has much in common with known Pennsylvania museum pieces like the example in Henry Kauffman’s book Pennsylvania Dutch American Folk Art (see photos). We are not experts: please use your experience to evaluate; questions and comments are welcome. The rack has an interesting free-flowing floral painted decoration in blue, orange, teal green, white, and yellow. The design blends nicely with Norwegian rosemaled folk art; we used it to hang hand knit Norwegian mittens, Scandinavian acanthus carved meerschaum pipes, and wood chain wedding spoons from Norway. Condition is as pictured, structurally sound. Note a wood knot or an old filled hole between the far left 2nd and 3rd hook. Measures 36 inches long, 5. Inches high, and 2. Some who have seen it think it may have been cut down from a longer original. The upper molding may have doubled as a plate rail. Antique 1900 Folk Art American Cast Iron Painted Eye Owl Andirons #29

These are about the nicest antique cast iron Owl Andirons that we have ever had before. They are circa 1900 and in completely original condition including the great all seeing painted eyes! These wise old owls measure about 14 tall and are in their original nicely worn old black painted surface as well. Note the defined logs that they are perched on. On the backs of each one is a large embossed “29”. We don’t know what that actually stands for, maybe you do. These are good and sturdy, and quite usable too. Great folk art appeal! Antique 19thC LOCKSMITH TRADE SIGN IRON PAINT AAFA Folk Art/ Sculpture/ Wrought. 19th or early 20th century, handmade iron locksmith trade sign in old surface with paint loss and abrasions. It originally hung as shown in the first pic, the two tabs were probably pierced for a chain hanger but they broke off long ago (see pic 10). The tip of the key is hollow, brilliantly designed like a box lock (some bits rattling inside as well as a hole on both sides/ see pics). It’s approx 27.5 long and a super piece of folk art. Gorgeous antique hand-painted box with hinged lid, bracket feet, scalloped front apron, hand-wrought iron hardware, and a glorious chippy paint surface, blue with stylized leaf flourishes and a (very worn) yellow bird. The paint is old, and there appears to be an even older green paint beneath. Possibly with Pennsylvania German immigrants. The corner joints are rabbet joints. The hinges are strap hinges. CONDITION NOTES: Some notable paint loss, chippy surface, please view photos. There appears to be an even older green paint under the blue. Iron hardware is rusty and the hasp for some reason has been curled up. Some wood shrinkage, separating but holding together. Size: 13″ x 9-5/8″ x 7.25.
