Early 1900's Folk Art Hand Carved Hand Painted Guinea Bird
Offering this wonderful and unusual small hand carved and hand painted guinea bird dating from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Guinea birds are very rarely the subject of carvers, who most often carve song bird, water birds and prey birds, making this quite an unusual and delightful find! This is skillfully and realistically carved and painted down to the most minute detail. It stands just 5″ tall and about 4″ from beak to tail. It shows some minor wear to the wood legs (see photos) and light wear to the paint finish, some minor flaking of the paint revealing the wood underneath. For its age, it’s in great condition and displays well. Obviously from a talented artist, it is unmarked. This was found in Southern Pennsylvania and I believe it to be a local piece. A fine addition to any carved bird collection! The item “Early 1900’s Folk Art Hand Carved Hand Painted Guinea Bird” is in sale since Sunday, April 19, 2020. This item is in the category “Art\Folk Art & Indigenous Art”. The seller is “brown*cow*antiques” and is located in Brogue, Pennsylvania. Aafa Early Antique Folk Art Wood Harvest Fall Farm Sorting Table Original Paint
AAFA EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD HARVEST FALL FARM SORTING TABLE ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this beautiful old kitchen/farm/sorting table. It’s a wonderful Primitive table with a great patina to it. The cream color paint is old and has other red or wood undertones as you can see in the pictures. The paint is alligator-ed, worn, peeled and crackled over time, especially on the drawer. The table has been well used and thus you get the benefits of this amazing ages-old look. It has nicks, dings, edgewear, scrapes, cuts, cracks, knots, stains, chips, chunks and an absolutely wonderful patina. The top of the table is comprised of 4 boards. The top was painted and from years of use has lots of marks, spots, scrapes and obvious wear , just the way we like it! It has a smooth look to it and has a border / wood edge around the top of the table to keep things from rolling off. There is also a cut out / chunk missing from one side above the drawer, we’re not sure why. The legs square and tapered as you can see in the pictures. One leg has a small amount of damage to it as you can see in the last picture. You don’t really notice the damage, if at all, when the table is standing up. The table measures 60″ L x 30.25″ W x 32.25 H at the highest point. The skirt, or apron of the table, measures 24.5 H to the floor. This is a great table and would make an amazing centerpiece in your kitchen or dining room. It’s sure to be a conversation starter! We can also recommend a couple of shippers. This is a great table! We regularly put up new items so check out our other items. We will do our best to answer your questions. We will work with your shipper for them to pick it up based on your arrangements. We will do the same. We couldn’t sell anything if it wasn’t for you and the time you have taken to spend looking at our items. As a very small business we strive to keep you as our customer! EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED MUSTARD WALL CABINET WOOD. Up for sale is this wonderful single door wall cabinet. It’s all hand painted in a deep mustard color and has tremendous patina, crackling and wear. The cabinet measures 24.25″ high to the top and 20.5″ wide at the top. 5 wide at the cabinet. Deep at trim and 8. Oor is 15″ wide and 19.75″ high. On the front it has a little twist latch and catch. That’s been painted over. The hinges are Shaker style hinges as you can see from the pictures. There are some holes on the front where there may have been other hinges at some other time, we’re not sure as there are only two holes in the cabinet for the top pair and there are no other holes on the door. We’d not sure what that’s about. It has a cute little scalloped dental / crown moulding at the top. Inside there are two shelves. The back is made from four tongue and groove boards. The top two were painted and are chipping. The bottom two are not painted as you can see. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, faded, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn, alligator-ed and patina-ed! Underneath the mustard color you can see a lighter, cream color. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions. EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART AMERICAN APOTHECARY CABINET SQUARE NAILS GREEN PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful twelve-drawer apothecary cabinet. It has 12 equal sized drawers each with its own cup handle style pull. The color is a dark green which is on the wood and handle parts. It has edge wear and the paint is scuffed. What a great look! The cabinet measures 31.75″ wide and 37″ high and 11.25 deep. The cabinet is very heavy and weighs a hefty xx lbs. ! The top is one piece of wood and it’s faded over the years. The back is a thin piece of wood and was likely replaced at some point. It’s very clean. The drawers are dovetailed and of solid wood. They have square nails in the sides as you can see in the pictures. Some of them have writing on them on the outside of the drawers which you can’t see once they are slid in to the cabinet. Some of the writing is in pencil and other writing is in crayon. You can see where a couple of drawers have issues like the upper right drawer where the top of the wood face came off and the bottom was glued back on. The light wood color appears to have been the color of the cabinet before it was painted. All the drawers work well, though. We don’t know the age of this cabinet but it looks old to us! You make the call. It is a wonderful and one of a kind item! There are nicks, scrapes, dings, edgewear, chunks, paint loss, paint chips, some chips on the sides near the bottom (probably from moving this around) and worn finish as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. We have a number of new items so check out our other items. We will handle them on a case-by-case basis. AMAZING AAFA 1800’S OLD PAINT DARK GREEN PRIMITIVE WOOD DRY SINK SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive dry sink. It’s a large two door cabinet with a dry sink above. It’s a really cool dry, dark green color with light green, persimmon and reddish undertones. There are other colors coming through the dark green paint as it appears to have been repainted but the green paint is still obviously very old. There is a neat looking persimmon or pumpkin color paint on the inside of the doors which may indicate that the entire cabinet. May have been that persimmon color at one point. Please see photos for the best description and accuracy. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! There are also some cracks in the wood from age. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! It’s an old dry sink and you can see the big gnarly square nails on the back. One goes through the side and that side piece of wood is missing and you can see the nail is a hefty long one. You can see this in one of the four-up pictures in the upper left picture. The square nails have big rusty heads on them. Down below on the back you can see a blue board. This appears to be a replacement board but is still the same thickness as the top board. In the bottom board there are round nails. The side back boards are a full 1 thick, wow!! The front boards are 7/8 thick. The right side board is sloped and there’s a chunk missing near the front board. We took a close-up picture of this. On the front the doors have old and heavy Shaker style hinges on them. The doors open and the left door’s bottom hinge is loose both at the screws and the hinges. There are newer cabinet clasps on the inside to hold the doors shut as you can see in the pictures (the silver things). You could leave the doors open and display crocks, or firkins or other wonderful items. There’s a mouse hole on the front doors as you can see in the pictures. There are a lot of old rusty nails as you can see in the pictures. Also, there’s a crack in the well of the dry sink but it is still sturdy and strong. There’s no paint in the well of the dry sink. The paint has some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variation of color, wood showing through, chipping and nicks. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! The cabinet measures 58.75 W x 19.25″ D x 29.75″ H. The well inside measures 56.75″ W x 17.5″ D x 3.5 H. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. This is a great dry sink! We regularly put up new items so check out our other items. We will do our best to answer your questions. We will do the same. We couldn’t sell anything if it wasn’t for you and the time you have taken to spend looking at our items.
