Very early hand painted, & carved folk art. Hand & forearm tattooed trade sign? I’m no expert and not positive but! I have had a number of reputable people look and they all have very similar opinions. Anyway it was once nailed up or attached to wall or?? By looking at the painted images flowers, rope, butterfly, ECT ECT and flag the flag appears to have 9 stars in Wich there was very few flags made during civil war period. With 9 stars This info was pulled off a Google site. Or perhaps the maker just simply put what he could fit 9 stars.
