Description This au ction is for a Arlene Fisher Signed Original 1992 Lancaster County PA Farm Oil on Board. The piece is in very good condition with skuffs and dings to the frame. The image size measures 24X27 and the frame measures 27X31. The small tag in the lower left of the main pictures is a price tag for the piece hanging in my vintage shop. The tag is not attached to the painting just tucked between the frame and the painting. For more than 25 years, Arlene Fisher has been capturing the peacefulness and serenity of rural Lancaster life in her paintings. It is her way of preserving Lancaster’s farms. Her works are prized in Lancaster and are treasured by fans of Americana across the country. Part of her charm is that she “doesn’t make this stuff up”. Each of the homes, farms , schoolhouses, and other outbuildings portrayed in her paintings actually exist. Arlene paints in the field — occasionally competing with those black & white cows for a good view, and works as well in her rustic studio in the barn adjacent to the family home. For sale is an antique, ca. It measures approximately 16″ x 11″ and despite some obvious damage (see photos), for its age of literally 200 years, I believe it can rightfully be described as being in good overall condition. For example, there are two dime-size holes in the canvas, two smaller pinholes, as well as some paint and canvas loss. The religious scene portrays Jesus on his way to Crucifixion in the upper left-hand corner. In the middle are a man and woman in a village field, below whom can be seen Mary Magdalene, kneeling in mourning over the body of the Crucified Christ. On the very bottom of the canvas there is a lengthy inscription in Spanish, that could provide more detail. ANTIQUE AAFA FOLK ART PARCHEESI GAME BOARD MADE FROM CRATES. Up for sale is this old hand painted checkerboard. It has a great folk art feel to it! The board is for Parcheesi and has old faded red and green. It has worn edges, cracks, paint loss and hand wear. The gaming part has lots of wear. The board is a 6 point star field. It appears to be made from one large piece of wood from a crate with a large crack down the middle. It measures 16 L x 14.5 W and is about 1.25 thick. There is a small hanger on the back to hang the board on the wall. You can see this in the pictures. There is crate stenciling on the back but we don’t know what it says. On one side there are the handwritten initials A. As mentioned, theres some edge wear, paint loss, nicks, scrapes, scratches, dings and a crack down the center.
