HUNTED SLAVES 1861 Oil PAINTING – Black Americana. This is considered a very important representation of slave life in America in 1861. The Hunted Slaves is a mid 19th century painting by British artist Richard Ansdell. Done in oil on canvas, the work depicts two African American slaves facing down a group of hunting dogs as the two slaves flee. The work is in the collection of the International Slavery Museum in Liverpool. The painting I have listed here was painted 15 years after the original, Possibly done by the original artist. Pair Americana Folk Art Sculptures Cast Zinc Boxers OLD PAINT Arcade Game 1920’s

This incredible pair of early 20th century mechanical boxing figures once graced a penny arcade coin op machine and they show the scars of many bouts. Each measures 12 5/8″ tall (add 1/4″ for the custom made heavy steel 3 1/2 square display bases) and features nicely cast details well-muscled physiques and a multi-layer paint history that is stable and exhibits lots of loss and wear. The African American pugilists have a chocolate milk-toned complexion and their trunks have good, strong color. They have an illustrious provenance having been included in the inventories of 2 of America’s most important Americana dealers of the mid to late 1900’s. Miniature ANTIQUE Americana FOLK ART Wood GREEN PAINT Painted Document Box. Rectangular dovetail construction, with hinged lid. This is true AMERICAN FOLK ART. Lid has the initials “FM” carved into the top. The hinges and the wrought-iron strap lock are original. The key functions perfectly in the lock, and is antique, but may be a later replacement. Box measures 11 5/8″ x 5 7/8″ and stands 5 5/8 tall. This piece is in original untouched condition, and the paint is just spectacular. Unpolished, with original warm patina. Sprinklin Sambo Yard Art Folk Art All Original Black Americana Painted Metal

Sprinkling Sambo Yard Art Folk Art All Original Black Americana Painted Metal From the very top of the item to the lowest point where it pokes in the ground is about 33.5 inches. From his left shoulder to where the hose extends out is about 23.5 inches. There is damage to the paint on his right eye extending past his ear to the brim of his hat as shown. There is pint wear on the reverse area near that hat brim as shown. Piece has some weight to it and is very well made and sturdy. I plugged this whimsical piece to the hose and sure enough “Sprinklin Sambo” works fantastic with no leaks whatsoever , a nice fluid tight stream of water running through the hose and dispersed in a 5 light stream pattern like a flower. This item IS ALL original down to the hoses and again is very well made. Notable areas of where to piece are again wear to the front paint of the face and the reverse back brim area of the hat as shown. Gaskets, hose, everything here top to bottom has that very old 1940s? All rivets and construction on here is great and there are NO STRUCTURAL ISSUES….. NO SUPRISES when you open up the box to wellcome this charming fellow from days gone by into your home. Lastly , because I took him outside to test him out he is a little dirty. Item will be considered in good vintage condition… Far better than many other similar pieces. Vintage Americana Folk Art Girl In Red Dress Dog & Cat After Ammi Phillips $1.7m

Fell in love with this painting more than 20 years ago in an antiques shop, long before I knew anything about folk art or ever heard of AMMI PHILLIPS. When we moved shortly thereafter, the newspaper article attached to verso detached and we never saw it again so dont remember what all it said because that was 14 years ago. In the interim, saw the famed Girl in a Red Dress with Dog, considered a folk art masterpiece, and came to appreciate this work even more. This girl, wearing a red necklace with her dress, is somewhat more adorable than the Phillips girl, and in this work you also get the cat she cradles. I just noticed it is not perfect but is very good. Hard to say the exact size of canvas but it seems to be approximately 19 x 16 while the beautiful frame is approximately 29 x 24.
