Antique 19thC BIBLE STAND BLUE & BITTERSWEET PAINT AAFA Book/ Folk Art/ Wood. (Probably) 19th century folding bible stand in original blue and bittersweet paint. The entire piece appears to be carved from a single piece of wood, if you can believe it. Folky “bat wing” scrollwork. There is a large but very good professional restoration to one of the feet (see pics 19,20,21) as well as wear and (old) loss to corners, abrasians, paint loss, etc. There is an eye hook in the top edge for hanging (beautiful wall art object). Aafa Dated 1921 Painted Pennsylvania German Wedding Marriage Folk Art Wall Rack

WE TRY TO DESCRIBE THE ACTUAL COLORS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY. Bearing its original red and blue paint, together with Pennsylvania German floral decorations. Appears to be poplar wood. Bears two painted names, one on each side. I can only discern one last name being HUNTZ. I can not read the name on the other side rail. Both names bear the date of 1921 underneath, presumed to be a wedding or dowry rack. One full width drawer in folk art paint in red, and one small drawer underneath, this drawer in soldier blue and red paint. Later hang up hooks on back. The paint is DRY and WORN and shows the great patina and oxidation we all look for. This condition of the paint may be a little rough for some, but others will accept the natural wear. Displays beautifully, and is a nice medium size without being overbearing. Tall to bottom drawer. As described above, and as shown in the photos. No reproduction without prior written consent. Depicts a family scene outside on the lawn with what appears to be three generations of family. Two couples are embracing and dancing. The children are seated in parlour chairs, the grandmother holding one child. The family dog plays with its toy on the floor. Above all this the scene above shows two birds, believed to depict lovebirds and harmony. Next to the birds faded to the right is a tree which is sketched but not painted; the tree full of the birds. Housed behind glass in a 1800s period plain wooden frame. Wonderful piece of folk art. Frame: 14 1/2 (x) 12 1/2 in. Sight: 11 3/8 (x) 9 1/4 in. The paper shows overall natural age toning. Small piece missing in upper right corner. Frame has not been cleaned or polished, and shows some light scratches. Also as described above, and as shown in the photos. ANTIQUE AAFA FOLK ART DOUBLE SIDED CHECKERBOARD ORIGINAL PAINT SALMON RED BLACK. Up for sale is this old hand painted checkerboard. It has a great folk art feel to it! The board has a wood frame around it with the game board in the middle. The game board has black (slightly dark blue tint in places) squares with reddish / salmon colored squares. The checkerboard has worn edges, paint loss, fading, separation, surface cracks and hand wear. The board is an 8 x 8 game field. It appears to be made from one large piece of wood. It measures 15″ L x 15″ W and is about 1 thick at the edges. The back side is a game board also. That side has a Parcheesi? Board painted on it with the some. Green area gaming sections. This side also has worn edges, scrapes, round indentations on the surface, paint loss and hand wear. This is a very nice double-sided game board!! As mentioned, there’s some edge wear, paint loss, nicks, scrapes, splatters, scratches and dings. There are also some areas where the surface of the board has lifted a little. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from and item of this age… It’s still just fabulous!!! It’s a very nice piece for your collection. Thank you for looking at this item. Aafa Early Antique Folk Art Original Blue Painted Wood Pantry Box

AAFA EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART ORIGINAL BLUE PAINTED WOOD PANTRY BOX. Up for sale is this beautiful 19th Century Early pantry box. We love the old Early paint and great patina on this little pantry box. It’s round and has a round lid. The top has a few small pieces of wood missing on the lid as you can see in the pictures. There is also a split on the inside where the band comes together as shown in the photos – not hard to fix. There is also edge wear/paint loss around the whole pantry box where the lid sits. It should look like this if it is original! The color is a polychrome blue, more of a vibrant blue. This was a hard paint/color to get right in the pictures. It is not purple or dark blue – more vibrant. The banding is square-ended and has little round-headed nails in it as well as into the side of the pantry box at the seam. It has some age and wear, wood loss, paint loss, dents, and scratches but is still solid. It measures 10.25″ in diameter at the lid and about 5.125″ high with the lid on. It weighs about 1.5 lbs. Aafa Ooak Folk Art Antique Primitive Garden Seat From Doors Alligator Blue Paint

AAFA OOAK FOLK ART ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE GARDEN SEAT FROM DOORS ALLIGATOR BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful one of a kind garden seat made from old doors. It’s an adorable seat with crackly / alligator paint, lots of patina and a great look!! It is blue with layers of paint so it has that thick, many layers look to it. The paint is really chippy and peeling and you should expect some more of the paint to come off in transit or when you pick it up. There are areas where there blue paint, then a little darker blue paint, then some greenish paint and some areas where there is very little paint with wood showing and just a little crackly paint. The seat itself is an old unpainted board with a little scalloped edge under the seat! The grain is all lifted on the wood board as it was likely outside for a long time and was not painted. It’s a very nice decorative piece for any Primitive collection! This would look great in a perrenial garden setting. This is truly a one-of-a-kind item. The step measures 47″ H (to the back) x 30″ W x 18.5 D (at base). The seat is about 18.5 off the floor. We don’t know the age of this item. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. We will do our best to answer your questions. Antique SMALL PAINT DECORATED BITTERSWEET TRAY AAFA Primitive Folk Art. Wonderful little tray found in Lancaster County, PA. Probably first or second quarter 20th century. It measures approx 8.5 long. Glued joints and white petal decoration on black trim all on a ground of dry, fiery bittersweet paint. Aging varnish over the trim decoration has left the majority of the petals a buttermilk yellow color. Dusty with staining and a few hairlines in the bottom board. Any questions please ask.
