This is a wonderful old folk art oil on canvas in a wood frame painting of a putti with grapes and peaches. It is 22 1/2″ frame wise and canvas is 19″ by 16. It is generally a bit dirty and has a top 2 center vertical tear, top left small area of wear, top right three pencil eraser head worn spots and a very hard to see old repair around cherubs hand. See my closeup for each defect noted. The frame has gesso corner chips and a few rough areas. It weighs 4 pounds. This is a wonderful painting that will make you smile. You should love it. For sale here is an Antique 19th century American Portrait Of A distinguished gentleman. Oil on canvas adhered to board. He is depicted sitting on a Pennsylvania Dutch painted or polychromed chair. His shirt displays a masonic pin. Pictures were taken with and without flash so a color variation is to be expected. Size – About 25 by 30 board. 32 by 37 framed. Condition – Good with the following issues: old restoration & repairs. The canvas was adhered to a board. The board is slightly protruding. Frame has wear and losses. Carved and painted wood, appears to be pine. Guaranteed antique and not a reproduction. The wonderful form of a horse’s body with wonderful facial details. And real hair for the mane. Age appropriate wear throughout for a child’s toy of this age. The folk art qualities of this example are outstanding and. I, for one, can envision a Prior-Hamblin portrait of a child. Holding this, his/her favorite horse stick toy. Condition is as expected… Wear and scuffs to paint, hairline crack to the neck, original horsehair is thinning and loose, repair and replacement to some of the leather. All/any repairs/replacements are old, done a long time ago. Wonderful carved details to the horse’s head, signs of a masterful carver. Unique and possibly one of a kind! Size: 7-1/2″ long x 2″ thick x 4-1/2 high (figure dimensions). Overall length with handle is 16-1/2. We are offering an original American. 19th century folk art painted and hand carved wood full bodied running horse weathervane. Stands 18″ tall x 22 1/2″ long at the most extreme points, with a maximum width of 2 1/4. We found this great old piece in a longtime collector’s estate in Los Angeles; we were told by the family that he bought it at an Americana Antiques show from a folk art dealer years ago, but we have no other information available. In very good condition. The traces of white and brown paint appear to be all original. Light overall wear commensurate with age. There is one 3/4″ x 1 1/4″ surface gouge to the left upper hind quarter section The lower part of the back right leg has been broken and is missing. Originally had a mane and tail. Old stapled repair at the muzzle across. Please study the photos as they are a part of the description. Offered here fresh out of an estate for the first time at no reserve. Offering a late 19th century oil on board portrait painting of a young girl in the naive taste. Discovered in Northwest Connecticut, this primitive piece displays a beautiful child in period dress holding a butterfly in her left hand as she points to it with her right hand; accompanying her is a cute dog with an urn to their right, all nestled between flowers; in the background a colonial fenced house, along with trees and birds. Incredible piece that still retains bright colors. Dimensions: frame – 11″ x 13″; sight – 8″ x 10″. Up for sale is an amazing, very large early American Folk Art Painting in the style of Joseph Whiting Stock. This painting is of 3 children and their dog. This massive painting measures approximately 42.5″ x 49″ framed and 34″ x 40.5″ unframed. Has great colors, loads of charm and displays beautifully. Overall very good condition but could probably use a professional cleaning and some touch ups. There are areas that are a bit blotchy and some areas where tiny flakes of paint have come off. There is what appears to be the remnants of a gold leaf paint line, in the form of an arch, at the top of the painting (see last two pictures). It may have been to outline the top of the painting? Up for sale is an amazing, very large early American Folk Art Painting in the style of Joseph Whiting Stock. This painting is of 3 children and their dog. This massive painting measures approximately 42.5″ x 49″ framed and 34″ x 40.5″ unframed. Has great colors, loads of charm and displays beautifully. Overall very good condition but could probably use a professional cleaning and some touch ups. There are areas that are a bit blotchy and some areas where tiny flakes of paint have come off. Only noticeable upon very close inspection. Frame has pieces missing in several areas. Please view all pics carefully for condition. Any questions or comments, please feel free to ask.
