This listing features an AMAZING one of a kind piece of Black Americana Folk Art and also Jazz Memorabilia in the form of a 36×24 painting on canvas board done by famous jazz singer Ruth Olay! The painting is signed Olay and dated’69 on the front, and on the back it has written in pencil Property of Ruth Olay and also in pen it says Painting By Jazz Singer Ruth Olay. It was acquired in a second hand store located less than 15 miles away from the Desert Hot Springs home where Ruth lived until her passing in 2021. There appears to be some mild water damage on the back of the canvas board, however the painting itself is rich and vibrant with its rustic styling and does not require restoration work.
