ORIGINAL DOLORES HACKENBERGER (b 1930)’AMISH GOING TO CHURCH’ OIL PAINTING. This is just a great original piece. This one is the first I have come across since then. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included her biography below. Known as the Grandma Moses of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, this is a wonderful example of the artist’s work. I think one of the best works I have come across by the artist. A wonderful village scene with the Amish heading to Church in a wonderful red barn. Oil on canvas measuring 12 x 15 inches, the painting is in fantastic as painted condition. Really a wonderful stunning example of the artist’s work. Painting is in a very high end linen matte and wood frame that are ready to hang. Just a beautiful presentation of this stunning painting. A must have for any collector. Frame measures 22 1/4 x 25 1/4 inches. Self-taught, Dolores began receiving recognition early, winning in the Chicago National Art Show near the beginning of her career. Since that time, she has earned international acclaim. Her paintings have won numerous top awards in juried competitions judged by authorities such as Eric Sloan, John McCoy and Warren Rohrer. Exhibitions of her work have been conducted in many institutions throughout the nation including, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Reading Public Museum, the Chicago National Art show, Franklin & Marshall College, and Lebanon Valley College.
