Antique 19th century, c1860s, original oil painting of an eye catching folk art townscape at dusk. Depicts a riverside mill town complete with buildings, Windmill and old stone bridge arching over a gently cascading waterfall. Presumably a New England scene. Medium is oil on canvas done in a folk art style. Framed in its original lemon gold gesso and wood frame and ready to hang. Very intriguing and worthy of further research. Provenance comes from a Keene, New Hampshire area estate. In Good overall condition. Exhibits gentle cracking and soiling. No holes, rips, tears or indents. Frame shows gentle chipping and loss to the gesso at the corners. Eye catching and appealing. Measures 15 1/4″ x 12 1/4″ and 19 1/4″ x 16 1/4″ with the frame. All reasonable offers considered.
