This baroque or rococo style figure of the late 1700s measures 13 3/8 tall on his 4 x 6 x 6 ½ pedestal and depicts a male saint holding a basket of food and raising his hand in blessing. The surface is very old (early to middle 1800s) and appears to be untouched with elaborate gilt damascene designs on the saints robe. The paint on his hand and face is chipped. Its surface is stable and there are no obvious repairs. I think the eyes may be a more recent re-paint. The item “Antique Carved Wood Saint Statue 18th c.
