Early Aafa Antique Folk Art Table Top Pie Safe Screened Crackle Blue Paint
EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART TABLE TOP PIE SAFE SCREENED CRACKLE GREY-BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this nice table top pie safe. It’s old but it has likely been repainted at some point. It’s a faded / soft / grungy greyish-blue with crackle as you can see in the pictures. It measures 24.5 W x 20 D at the top x 28.5″ H at the front and 32″ H at the back. It’s a one-of-a-kind grey-blue, folksy, screened pie safe. It has one door on it with old face over hinges as you can see in the pictures. The doors work well. It has a square wooden door pull and two thumb turns. Overall the screens on the front and sides are reasonable but the front screen near the bottom is a little loose and the sides screens are a little spotted/rusty. We took a picture close-up of the left side. The grain is lifted here and there and the back is bead board. On the right side there’s a vertical piece near the back where there is a brighter and newer bit of bluer paint. Underneath it’s old wood with one board toward the back looking like it was replaced at some point. Inside there is one shelf and it is pretty clean. There are also some scratches, nicks, chips, surface rust on the screens, paint loss, alligator paint, crackle, hand rub wear, edge wear, paint marks and patina. These are all things you’d expect to see. It’s a nice piece for your collection. Thank you for looking at this item. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. We will do our best to answer your questions. We have a number of new items so check out our other items. Early Antique Folk Art Primitive Wood Dry Gray Cabinet Cupboard Crackle Paint
EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE WOOD DRY GREY GRAY CABINET CUPBOARD CRACKLE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive cabinet or cupboard. It’s a nice sized four door cabinet with shelves inside! There are two doors on top and two doors on the bottom. The bottom is a little deeper than the top and so there’s a little ledge / stepback part between the top and the bottom. The top doors slide against the little stepback part some and need to be lifted a little when opening them. The bottom doors work nicely. It’s a wonderful dry wood, grey in color with crackled, crazed and worn paint. Underneath is a wood color, possibly red color. Over time, the sides have worn near the bottom and so the cabinet tends to lean forward slightly. We’ve put shims under the front of the cabinet to keep it from leaning forward. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! The wood is all bead board on the front doors and the sides. Inside the bottom shelf comes out if you want to take it out. The inside looks all original with great patina! The back is all original made of old wood boards with four metal repairs to cover holes and on the corner. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look!! The doors have the original iron and porcelain slid latches as you can see in the pictures. There’s also a wood latch near the bottom on the front. Underneath the cabinet has wood boards with a few mouse holes in it. The hinges are heavy duty pin hinges. We don’t know the age or origin of this cabinet but we do know that it’s adorable! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! The cabinet measures 71″ H in the back and 72″ H in the front with 36.5″ H to the stepback part x 50.25″ W x 19″ D at the bottom x 13″ D at the top. We can also recommend a couple of shippers.
