Listed artist known for typical scenes of the Cuban countryside and its main character the Cuban guajiros (country folk). He studied at the Escuela de Arts Plasticas in Camaguey. He was later awarded a scholarship to study at the La Grande Chaumiere in Paris. Molne has had numerous exhibitions around the world. His work is always featured at Nova Galleries and Eduardo Padron Art in Coral Gables, Florida. He currently lives in San Jose, Costa Rica. A bit about the subject matter. Alledgedly, Papa Montero was a dapper black man with cotton-like head. His teeth were impeccably white, Panama hat, guayabera shirt, and pleated jeans, and shiny double color shoes. But he was a shameless old womanizing man from Isabela de Sagua, who loved to drink, party and roam the streets. Because of his girth and his age, he was called Papa, but his real name was Luis Felipe Montero. He competed against another partying dance lover at a carnivale: Jose Rosario Oviedo, aka Malanga. This man was the best dancer of Rumba Columbia. Papa was stabbed to death ar the carnival but he died smiling. As he was in life, his funeral became a party for drums trumpets, guitars, and singers.
