Scandinavian Folk Art Tine Bent Box 19th Century Painted. Circa 1890 1920 made in Norway, Denmark or Sweden, it is made from thin pieces of steam bentwood, laced together with tree root twisted handmade rope. It has two vertical posts to hold the lid. To open you lightly pull apart the side posts, then the lid is loose to open. It has the original folk art painting done on both sides. It has an old restoration on one wing, otherwise in good condition. I see two screws one on each end to hold the posts. Old looking and clean on the inside, The handle is held on the a thin piece of wood. It has a thick patina on the lid. Wooden pegs are showing on the bottom. It measures 11 ½ inches long x 4 inches wide 3 inches tall, and 1 inch for the handle.
