Antique Wooden Working Decoy form Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Several coats of paint added over years. Duck is in preening position. The wood has drying cracks and is in good shape for age. The keel has lead insert in the back. History, came from Hamilton, Ontario region of Canada and migrated to Millington, Michigan, several hunting trips can be seen from wear on the wood. Migrated again to Churchville, Maryland and flew in to a collections, who put on a shelf for several years with other Canadian decoys, also, from Madison Mitchell, Captain Harry Jobes, and numerous Maryland decoy makers. And also decoys for all regions of the USA including North Carolina Outer Banks. These ducks have been migrating for years and need a new home. Questions welcome, thanks for looking. Best antique wooden fruit would be a Wow on any farm house table have never been a fan of the alabaster fruit so was thrilled to find these wood ones their paint is still vibrant has normal paint loss from age just looks good enough to eat! I have ever seen ones with this good of early paint. All are amazing the apples look like they were nesting apples 14 pieces in all along with an antique very dry bowl it has a great patina and does have a crack you can see in last two pictures but it is sturdy and stable. Antique Folk Art Carved Wood Painted Peacock From Hen House Shipping Available

This is a carved and painted folk art Peacock that sat on top of a Hen House in Chester Vermont. The peacock was acquired from the grandson (age in 80’s when acquired) of the man who mounted him on the hen house. They raised quail and chickens in the house. The peacock was removed from the top of the house years ago out of fear that it would be shot at. He was then stored in a barn for many years. This dates the peacock to sometime in the mid early to mid 1800’s. The peacock is carved out of separate pieces of wood and pegged together, the body, tail, legs and ball. There appears to be several layers of paint, dark green, light green and white. On the back of the ball there are traces of roofing tar or other black treatment. The wood appears to be white pine and the peacock is very solid with some slight looseness at the places where it was pegged together. The peacock is all original with only one old repair on the back of the neck where a piece of material was attached many years ago. He stands securely on an iron folk art stand and is 35″ tall on the stand and 41″ long. The peacock itself is 41″ long x 30″ tall and 6 wide. Aafa Antique Folk Art 8 Drawer Wood Apothecary White Cubby Cabinet Crates Paint

OLD ANTIQUE 8 DRAWER WOOD APOTHECARY WHITE CUBBY CABINET PRIMITIVE CRATES PAINT AAFA. Up for sale is this wonderful 8 drawer spice or apothecary cabinet. It has 1 large drawer, 2 medium drawers and 5 smaller drawers. The cabinet was made from crates (drawer sides and some bottoms) and little porcelain drawer pulls that have little aged / rusted slotted screws in them. The screws are different sizes and some of the knobs have paint on them. The color is a painted white-white on the drawer faces and cabinet sides with a grey-blue color on the face of the cabinet around the drawers. It makes it very nice looking. It may have been more grey and the white may have been applied over it at some point. The paint obvious brush marks, chips, nicks, edgewear and bumps in it as you can see in the pictures. The drawers are painted on the outside and are unpainted on the inside. The drawers each measure. 1 Large Drawer at right bottom: 12.25″ W x 8.25″ D x 6.5 H (inside dims). 2 Medium Drawers at right top: 11″ W x 7.75″ D x 3.25 D. 5 Smaller Drawers: 5.5″ W x 7.75″ H x 5 D. It is a wonderful and one of a kind! The back is old wood and there are some cracks and separations here and there. We don’t see any square nails but there are a bunch of rusty little nails. The cabinet measures 22.75″ H x 36″ W x 9-1/8″ D without knobs (9.75″ with the knobs). It weighs about 32 lbs. The drawer bottoms are made out of old crates as you can see in the pictures. There are cigar labels and a cigar stamp that says “Modern Times Cigars”. The back of one of the ones at the top right is broken in the back and that crate says Hazel-Atlas Glass Co. Another says “Owl Brand 5c” and is a cigar label actually on the drawer. It’s a good-sized. Cabinet and would not likely be able to hung on the wall or set on top of a cabinet. It’s very cute and not something you’ll see again soon. We don’t know the age of this item but it looks early 20th century to us. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint/stains as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. Its getting harder to find his earlier pieces. There is a scratch on the top of the base about 1 1/2 long (see pic) the colors are very good.
