Antique Late Victorian Portrait Oil Painting of Young Woman American Folk Art

For your consideration, a very fine antique portrait of a young woman in formal dress, circa 1880 Victorian era. The piece is unsigned and likely American; an intriguing looking work with an extremely well executed face, unusual ombré cloud-like background, and a slightly naive execution of the torso. The piece is oil on canvas and appears to have been restored, mounted on board, and reframed in Dallas in the 1940s. The painting is extremely clean with age related craquelure to the paint. Frame is in good condition with minimal gesso loss. Painting measures 18×24 inches, frame measures 21.5 x 27.5 inches with a depth of 2 inches. Antique VICTORIAN Folk ART PRIMITIVE Large Landscape BOY FISHING Oil Painting

Here is a large antique oil on canvas painting of a Hudson River primitive/fol art style landscape painting. It depicts a older boy who appears to have been out fishing with a large pole. He is looking out at the lake and there is some storm/rain clouds behind him. The entire piece measures 28 1/2 x 33 3/8 in, in total size and canvas alone measures 25 1/8 x 30 1/8 in. The painting is framed in its original lemon gold antique picture frame. I do not see a signature and it looks to be a folk art/primitive style painting. The back shows two patches that must have been professional repairs as I can’t really detect them from the front. The painting is in fair/good as is vintage condition with some scrapes at the side left bottom, some wear in a few other ares, minor scrapes, and the frame has the typical scrapes and pitting of original lemon gold frames. Please enlarge all pictures to see if condition suits you. The only history I have on this item is that it came out of a home in Aiken , South Carolina and was supposed to have always been in one family. Here is a unusual antique oil portrait of a Victorian era American woman. The painting originated from the Northeast USA. This is an naive/primitive type of painting with large brushstrokes and self-taught ability. It measures 18 x 22 ins. Is in fair as is vintage condition with edgewear chipped paint and small tears to the thin board. Also has some warpage and wear from age. The painting is signed WRENS at the bottom right. The background is a deep eggplant purple, her dress and bonnet are black and her hair is brown. She has intelligent blue eyes. I would date this to the 1860-70s time period.
