For your consideration this is a wonderful vintage Folk Art original South American (I think Peruvian) oil painting on canvas of figures in a valley town in a good condition. It is in a original wooden frame with a linen trim. The piece is signed in the lower right with the initial R N C and dated 84 by the artist. On the back there is a paper attached with some information about the artist and the art work, signed and titled “Una Noche En El Valle” (“A Night in The Valley” in English) by the artist too. Great little folk portrait of a Spanish lady, probably Mexican or South American, oil on canvas with original stretcher. 20 x 16″, 29 x 25″ with frame. The bottom edge was ragged and needed work, but the rest was in very good condition, a professional paintings person did the repair. Search this dress style online and you will find it dates to around 1850. Clock in glass dome is a very nice touch. I found the frame online, it is new and very heavy.
