It also was produced 1840 (pre 1900). A rare and fantastic portrait miniature by revered Boston portrait miniature painter, Clarissa Peters Mrs. Moses B Russell of a young man. Peters is highly collected for her miniatures of children and babies. This is a more rare portrait of a young man in original gilt metal frame with reverse lens. In any case, the substrate was professionally repaired and stabilized using curren t best practices of conservation/restoration in the field and displays well. It has beautiful depth and color as most of Mrs. Russell’s work has. It has a really folk art look and wonderfully designed lines. The apron is beautifully crafted as are the artful cut out legs. The grain paint was masterfully done and is in excellent condition especially for the age of this bench. It has very minor wear to the painted surface- if any at all. It was handmade and has a great look- A really beautiful piece! It is probably from the early to mid 1800s. It measures approx 12.25″ long by 6.5″ wide and approx 7 6/16 tall. Absolutely beautiful and a work of art! Old 19th century antique rocking cradle. Beautifully painted wood in floral and fauna. This is EXTRAORDINARY, original, hand painted finish. Predominantly red background color with painted flowers that adorn the sides and the curved, rocking feet. The cradle is not marked or signed. It is in good, antique condition and has at least on old repair to a scrolled rocker. This doesnt compromise the structural integrity of the cradle and these can be resolved. The cradle rocks smoothly. This is a small cradle designed for a newborn infant or maybe a doll. It is 22 long, and a narrow 7 wide. Please view all photos as they contribute to the description. Genuine Mose Tolliver Very Unique Bus Painting Southern Folk Art Incredible Rare. This painting is the perfect size; 26 x 9 1/2 x 1 1/2. Not too big, not too small. This painting is unique in several ways. Mose made several differing bus paintings but this is by far the most special. Not only is this one framed, but the frame is adorned with flattened bottle caps. The paint used in this work are bright and vibrant, which Mose fans understand was not always the case. The people riding the bus are all different colors, which in most other bus paintings they were all uniform in color. The frame surrounding the painting is attached very securely with both nails and some type of glue. The frame has flattened beer bottles caps nailed to it, all of which though fastened securely still freely spin and/or move. Though many of his paintings included a soda can tab to use to hang them, this painting has an actual picture hanger nailed to the back of it. I dont know for a fact that Mose installed this hanger, but I havent been told otherwise. Will be packaged securely with plenty of padding protection. This painting is genuine, and comes from a collection of other Mose Tolliver paintings and Joe Light paintings. See other listings or inquire if interested. This is an antique primitive hand painted set of 3 windows out of a 1800/ early 1900’s era Romani gypsy wagon. All original metal hardware latches all windows open and work perfectly. Each window roughly measures 16.5″ x 19″ each is unique and different being hand crafted. The painted colors on these windows are still vibrant and bright the detail is amazing. They are not chipped or banged up. I have them hanging above my fireplace in my living room. From a smoke-free home. The last picture of the Romani wagon is just to give you an idea of what they came off of and It is not the actual wagon. Please let me know if you need any more pictures on something specific. These would make a very cute cat door in a window or decor just sitting on back of a buffet cabinet. Price is for all three I will not split up the set sorry. This is a rare and fantastic, super nice piece of early American primitive folk art. An oil on canvas still life painting, ca 1880’s to 1890’s, depicting a string – or 2 sticks really, of speckled trout. Quite possibly upstate NY or New Hampshire but could be from anywhere with woods and fish. The painting has nice colors with a great subject matter. It is a fresh find gleaned from a long time private collection, and comes in sweet, as found condition, with no cleaning or restoration of any kind on my or the previous owners end. Attic fresh so to speak. It comes framed in a period Adirondack type wooden Oak & Gesso frame with old stretcher & with old nails, all appropriate to the time period. The stretcher was a little loose in the frame so a couple modern screws were added to the back of the frame to better secure the painting. This can be easily changed should someone wish to. The painting is unsigned but seems pretty well done. Framed it is 25.5 tall and 17.5. Not much of any issues at all for its age, just one little stretcher edge split in the canvas as pictured… About 3/4 long and some lite finish wear. This painting will make a nice addition to any folk art collection or to any wall in general. Its a nice find! Any questions PLEASE ask!
