Folk Art Child’s Rocking Horse. This is an authentic very old antique piece. Made of solid wood with a folk art painted plaster overcoat. Has a tacked on leather saddle seat. Rocker bars measure approximately 54″ long x 16-1/2″ across & the horse measures approximately 34″ high x 36″ long, leg to leg. Condition is antique & very very used with many losses & cracks to the plaster overcoat & old cracks & repairs to the rocker bars. Missing the right leather ear. SALE Fabulous Folk Art Antique 19th Century Oil Painted Head Cloth Rag Girl

SALE PRICE This is a Fabulous Americana Folk Art Antique 19th Century Oil Painted Head Cloth Rag Girl Doll in Calico Dress 28 Inch. I have had a few of these Americana folk art painted head cloth rag dolls over the years and I always marvel at the beautiful rendering of the hand painted facial features, hair, hands, feet and eyes that give these gals such a distinct glow about them. This tall 28 inch doll was beautifully made from cotton muslin, and rag/cotton/something-crunchy stuffed. Her folk art hand painting continues to her neck and upper torso. She was treadle machine sewn and hand stitched. She has mitt hands with opposing thumb, well defined fingers and toes, a well proportioned body (one arm a little longer than the other), jointed at the hip, knee and shoulders so she can sit, and she has some aging, staining and wear to the fabric as you would expect of an antique cloth doll. The shoulders have some restitching/repair work. Her oil painted face and hair were hand painted and beautifully rendered. The whites of her eyes were never painted. There is some wear to the paint and three fabric splits (one to the left eye and two to the chin). Along with her blue eyes, she has a realistically painted nose, flesh color skin, delightfully smiling heart shaped mouth, bright rosy cheeks and a molded chin achieved through sewn darts. Her facial structure fabric was gathered around the top of the head, and dark blond brush-stroke painted curls define the hair. The pink and white print calico dress is not original that I know of, but fits her very well. It was treadle machine sewn the wrist cuffs have been pinned to fit the wrist better so that her hands can be viewed. She has no underthings, but wears a white lace trimmed dimity apron so that her waist and form are defined. I always marvel at the hand painting and like to think that artists or itinerant artists possibly painted the heads for these dolls. They look so much like portraiture of the period. A very pretty vintage 1920s Perfection heater. It has been heavily painted with folk art designs, making this an adorable display piece to add a touch of cozy charm to any room. It is for display only. It is screwed together and painted over so unsure if any heater parts remain inside. It is not intended to be used as a heater. The vents have been papered over from the inside. The plexiglass piece in the front window has some light cracking. Could be easily replaced. Wonderful Ayrshire Milk Cow. Signed solid wood carving. Hand carved and hand painted. Signed by Larry Koosed & Dated 2007. This Ayrshire Milk Cow is absolutely stunning! She measures 12″ long and stand 8″ tall. She is painted in very lifelike colors of the breed, brown and white. Signed inside the back leg, L. Upon close inspection, I only noted a minor tiny scuff to the paint on her hip and a line on her leg where the leg meets the body when the carver assembled her parts for carving. This is in the paint only, and is viewable in my photos. Larry Koosed is a well known carver in rural Ohio and is known for his beloved and whimsical farm animal carvings. 19th C American Antique Folk Art Hand Carved Painted Kinetic Hinged Wooden Doll

RARE EARLY-MID 19TH CENTURY AME RI CAN ANTIQUE FOLK ART HAND CARVED, HAND. PAINTED KINETIC WOODEN DOWEL HINGED. WOOD DOLL, WITHOUT ORIGINAL. 19th century Ame ri can antique hand carved & paint decorated hinged wooden figurative dolls. 12″ Height x 2 ½” Width x 2 ¾ Depth. Absolutely untouched and undisturbed overall antique condition and recently discovered in a New England estate. It remains in wonderfully well-preserved overall condition, without its original fabric period clothing but with its painted head and painted upper shoulders and neck, largely unscathed and completely intact. All wooden limbs and wood pin hinged legs and arms are fully working, intact and present. The original paint of the doll showcases the anticipated, traditional mid-19th century Victorian female hair style and neckline, where her linen blouse would have began, just where the white paint is seen ending on her upper chest. Her hair is cleanly parted down the middle and the two sides hide her ears, in the traditional, modest and still largely Puritan sensibility toward the sublimation of a woman’s natural beauty, where ears were regarded as too erotic and sexual to show and reveal. Hands and feet are sublimated to the larger forms of arms and legs. Blue and red paint are used for the lips and eyes. The wood has a naturally aged, dry finish and the enamel paint is largely intact, free of flaking or diminishment that the harmful effects of sunlight, heat or cold regularly cause such old and antique painted wooden items. Simply extraordinary and an exquisite and magnificent example of mid-19th century Ame ri can hand carved and hand painted figurative wooden folk art. Very Good to Excellent overall antique condition. Stunning Holstein Milk Cow. Signed solid wood carving. Hand carved and hand painted. Signed by Larry Koosed & Dated 2008. This Holstein Milk Cow is absolutely adorable as she gazes at you over her shoulder! She measures 12″ long and stand 7.75″ tall. She is painted in very lifelike colors of the breed, black and white. Antique Folk Art Painted Weathervane Arrow Directional Gold Leaf

But could be early 20thC. The Paint appears to be Gold Leaf and Dark Red, much of it which remains on the arrow. The fin is flat and the arrow point is full bodied. Not sure of the metal.
