Though Henry Lapp is a noted Amish, Lancaster County cabinet maker and folk painter, it is his insatiable color that proves so memorable. Born deaf, perhaps limited communication served his imagination – a freedom is surely evident here. Commemorating the Ulysses S. Grant / Schuyler Colfax presidency of the time, signed and dated 1874. Measures 9 x 21, pinholes (a few appear at the head of the eagle) and small breaks along original folds, some staining. Very simply, a show stopper. Please see photos (last detail best illustrates the heavy depth of the work) and contact with questions. Thanks much for looking. The item “Antique Folk Art Eagle US Grant Banner Fraktur Painting Henry Lapp Lancaster PA” is in sale since Friday, September 29, 2017. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. The seller is “rarebooksandpaper” and is located in Irwin, Pennsylvania. This item can be shipped to United States.
