Antique 1937 or OLDER Hand Carved Wood Hand Painted Festival Tribal Mask 15″ X 7″. I acquired this mask from a family who’s grandparents had brought it back from trip into Mexico. I was told this mask was acquired from the Southern region i don’t know if its tied to the region as historical or if it was just acquired from a local. As for its authenticity it is 100% original, but i do not believe this mask has tribal affiliation i believe it to be used for festivals or its just antique tourist trade piece, either way this was hand made from the region and is fairly old at 1937. On the back is an old newsprint glued to the frame many years ago. The newsprint is in German. 13 inches tall by 15.25 inches wide outside overall front dimensions. Folk Art Early Sewing Ballot Box Painted Carved

Wonderful early folk art box measures 11″ x 9 1/2″ x 6 and is made of heavy wood and is close to 5 LBS. Beautifully hand made with great detail and great patina. Not sure the original use, perhaps a sewing box, or ballot box? It has 2 swing handles on the sides, and a drawer on the end. The drawer opens (a bit tight), and the drawer pull is missing. On the top of the box is a post that may have held a spool of thread or yarn and a small box with dividers, (one is lose), with great painting of stars and blue and white design. This box is incredibly made with great details and is all original. There are some chips in the spool holder and the circle on the top of the box, so please see the pictures for the description of the condition. A really great find! Thank you for looking! This piece is so terrific. Would be perfect in a farmhouse kitchen. Beautiful detail and the best chippy paint which feels like it has a wax type finish on it. Perfect used worn patina. I categorized it as a date of 1900 to 1940 but I could easily be from the late 1800s. A great size measuring approximately 19 inches across 9 inches long and projects approximately 7 inches from the wall. There is a tiny bit of separation between the front of the shelf and the top piece. It doesnt bug me but if it bugs you could tighten it… This is a piece for a lover of old primitive pieces with character. Typically fed ex is less but the app does not reflect the correct price. Absolutely beautiful and a work of art! Old 19th century antique rocking cradle. Beautifully painted wood in floral and fauna. This is EXTRAORDINARY, original, hand painted finish. Predominantly red background color with painted flowers that adorn the sides and the curved, rocking feet. The cradle is not marked or signed. It is in good, antique condition and has at least on old repair to a scrolled rocker. This doesnt compromise the structural integrity of the cradle and these can be resolved. Alebrije Fox Intricately Hand painted Handmade & Carved Mexican Folk Art Oaxaca

This is a really lovely High Quality Alebrije Fox. He is all hand Carved & intricately Hand Painted. 8 1/4 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches deep. The Alebrijes come from a Oaxacan population called San Martin Tilcajete, whose habitants are engaged in family workshops to carving. In wood and hand-paint these surrealist and fantastic figures. The Alebrijes have a specific history. They were invented in 1936 by a cardboard man named Pedro Linares López, at 30 years of age. His inspiration came after getting sick and falling into a deep sleep, where he saw these creatures for the first time. During his illness, it is said that Pedro dreamed of a forest full of trees, rocks and animals, being very peaceful. Began to transform into strange creatures, like donkeys with wings, roosters with bull horns, lions with dog heads, and so on. Fantastic animals shouted a word in unison and every time stronger: alebrijes. Upon awakening, Linares López decided to give life to the visions he had and created the first cardboard alebrijes.
