21 L ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WOODEN TRENCHER DOUGH BOX ORIGINAL RED AND BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful, old, beautiful wooden trencher dough box. It is rectangular in shape with canted sides with little inlet wooden handles on each end to carry it by. It doesn’t have a lid and likely did not as this one is painted inside with a wonderful Primitive blue-grey, almost a robin’s egg blue in places, color. Sometimes the ones with the painted insides didn’t have lids, that’s why they painted the inside. The color is a beautiful Primitive, almost Ox Blood, red color with wonderful patina, age marks and character marks. Wow, we love the look and all the patina! It looks to have been made from old crates. We can see some crate writing on the side of the box but we can’t read it. It looks in part to say Knudsen’s but we’re not sure. We tried to show this in the last picture. Measures 21.5″ long (at the top) and 17.5″ long (at the bottom) x 9.5″ wide (at the top) and 8″ wide (at the bottom) x 9.25 high measured to the rim. It weighs about 5 lbs. It’s a wonderful, more petite size! This will make a great conversation piece. There’s some nicks, chips, surface imperfections, scrapes, discolorations, fading and edgewear as you can see in the pictures. These “imperfections” add character! It has many character scratches to the interior and spotting or differences in color from age and use. Look at the color, WOW! Inside it’s painted and there are wear marks where the paint has come off. It’s got patina from use on the inside too! The bottom of the box has a crack in it as you can see in the pictures. It’s very clean inside. We have tried to show all of this in the photos. Please look at the photos for a more accurate description and detail. Gorgeous antique hand-painted box with hinged lid, bracket feet, scalloped front apron, hand-wrought iron hardware, and a glorious chippy paint surface, blue with stylized leaf flourishes and a (very worn) yellow bird. The paint is old, and there appears to be an even older green paint beneath. Possibly with Pennsylvania German immigrants. The corner joints are rabbet joints. The hinges are strap hinges. CONDITION NOTES: Some notable paint loss, chippy surface, please view photos. There appears to be an even older green paint under the blue. Iron hardware is rusty and the hasp for some reason has been curled up. Some wood shrinkage, separating but holding together. Size: 13″ x 9-5/8″ x 7.25. EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE BLUE TABLE TOP PIE SAFE OLD ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old tabletop pie safe. It’s old and adorable! It’s a nice Primitive blue color with old, rusty screens. It’s got tons of character! It has an old wire metal latch that hooks from the door in to an little loop on the side and holds the door shut. It has a nicely scalloped top trim piece and inside there is one shelf. The inside is not painted except for a few paint drips. There’s even a little knothole / mouse hole on the back. They must have been good pies! The back was made from old crates! It’s a wondeful blue color with lots of patina, paint loss, edgewear, nicks, scrapes and overall wear. The blue paint has been lightly sealed or waxed as you can see in the pictures. We anticipate they were trying to preserve the color and the finish. It has a lot of old rusty nails on it. We see a couple that might be square nails, but most of them are old round nails. It’s not perfect but then again, it is! It measures 27″ H x 17″ W x 7.75 D. It weighs 12 lbs. AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD CHILD’S SLED ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT CHRISTMAS. Up for sale is this amazing child’s sled. This is such a cute sled!! It’s a ligth blue and it’s a sled you (or small kids years ago would) sit on while wooshing down the snow! The runners are metal and this little sled is heavy for its size. We don’t recommend that you use this for your kids to downhill sled on, however, we do think it would make a great Teddy Bear display item or perhaps a Santa display for Christmas! The upper part is wood and it’s a worn light blue. The bottom rails are wonderfully shaped to plow through the snow. They are wrapped with metal and there’s a metal crossbar underneath also. On the back on the deck there’s some damage to the wood. There are holes in the front of the runners for a rope but there’s no rope. It’s in great condition for its age. The paint is all rough and worn as you can see in the pictures. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, rust, paint drips, fading, scrapes, scratches, nicks, cracks, dings, worn off edges, edge wear, smudges, and patina! What a great look!! It’s been well-loved and probably has lots of miles of downhill slides on it!! We’re not really sure how you steer (probably with your feet off the back) it so we hope whoever had it was hanging on! AAFA ANTIQUE EARLY FOLK ART 1800’s ORIGINAL PAINT LIGHT BLUE WOOD DRY SINK. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive dry sink. It’s a smaller-sized single door cabinet. It’s a wonderful old dry Primitive light blue color (almost a robin’s egg blue or powder blue) with green and wood undertones where the paint has pealed or chipped off. The paint appears to be all original and is very dry, alligatored, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! Please expect some paint chips at the bottom of the box when you receive it. We will carefully package this item. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look!! It’s an old dry sink. The door opens has an old wooden thumb twist to hold the door shut and a small pull to pull it open. Inside there is a bottom to the cabinet and that’s painted a soft yellow. The door has old heavy shaker style hinges with slotted screws. You could leave the doors open and display crocks, or firkins or other wonderful items. The paint has some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variation of color, wood showing through, chipping and nicks. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close-up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! The cabinet measures 35.75 W x 16″ D x 27.75″ H. The well inside measures. 34.5 W x 14.25″ D x 3.5″ H. The wood is thick, 13/16″ thick (a little more than 3/4″ thick)!! Thank you for your understanding. This is a great dry sink! The entire piece appears to be carved from a single piece of wood, if you can believe it. Folky “bat wing” scrollwork. AAFA EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART ORIGINAL BLUE PAINTED WOOD PANTRY BOX. Up for sale is this beautiful 19th Century Early pantry box. We love the old Early paint and great patina on this little pantry box. It’s round and has a round lid. The top has a few small pieces of wood missing on the lid as you can see in the pictures. There is also a split on the inside where the band comes together as shown in the photos – not hard to fix. There is also edge wear/paint loss around the whole pantry box where the lid sits. It should look like this if it is original! The color is a polychrome blue, more of a vibrant blue. This was a hard paint/color to get right in the pictures. It is not purple or dark blue – more vibrant. The banding is square-ended and has little round-headed nails in it as well as into the side of the pantry box at the seam. It has some age and wear, wood loss, paint loss, dents, and scratches but is still solid. It measures 10.25″ in diameter at the lid and about 5.125″ high with the lid on. It weighs about 1.5 lbs.
