This is a beautiful, rare Amish 3d hand-carved painting by Sam Zook, of the Kinzers, Pennsylvania, Zook family. Sam Zook worked in tandem with Abner Zook before Abner’s death, releasing at least one work by the two of them together. I tried to capture the depth of the carved figures through the photos. This is wood-carved in deep relief. It is quite heavy, I’m estimating around 15 lbs. The size of the frame is 17 5/8″ square, with the inner image measuring at 13 1/8″ square. The depth of the frame, not including the carving that extends beyond the frame, is 2 1/8.
