AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE EARLY 1800s ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED BLUE WOOD WALL CABINET WITH WOOD DOWELS. Up for sale is this unbelievably amazing single door cabinet. It’s a wall cabinet and is all hand painted with reddish trim and tremendous patina. It’s dated 18xx something. We can’t read the other two numbers but at the top of the door it says “18”. At the bottom we can’t read the other numbers. There are also some intials on the door, and those appear to be AJL or FJL but they are very hard to read. The door has a crack in it but hey, at this age, what did you expect? ! Underneath the door there’s a little drawer. It is a very heavy cabinet and weighs 60 lbs!! It’s heavy duty old school wood. The wood is 7/8 thick! It’s also dovetailed at the top. Along the front, there are wood dowels along the trim and you can see them in the pictures. On the front it has old hardware including rusty old iron pin-type hinges, a rusty escutcheon around the key hole (we don’t have the key) and an old rusty nail that operates as a hold closed. Inside there’s a little shelf in the middle and a cup hook shelf above. The trim is very pronounced on this cabinet including the crown molding around the top of the cabinet. The crown appears to be about 1/4 above the paint line on the cabinet. There’s also a trim around the middle of the cabinet and one at the bottom of the cabinet. At the top, the trim is cracked as you can see in the pictures. This looks like and old break to us. At the bottom there’s been a little damage to the trim on the front and both sides as the trim is light and the cabinet is heavy. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, faded, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn, alligator-ed and patina-ed! This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look!! You will never see another one of these again! It’s truly one of a kind OOAK! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! 33 inches high to the top and 29.25 inches high to the main cabinet. 22.25 inches wide at the trim and 19.75 inches wide at cabinet. 13.25 deep at trim and. 12.25 deep at cabinet. Rawer is 14.5 inches wide and 4.75 inches high. Oor is 14.5 inches wide and 16 inches high. Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions. We are back and will be regularly putting up new items so check out our other items. We will do our best to answer your questions. We will handle them on a case-by-case basis. We will do the same. Unbelievably rare find of a fine old cut out, Scherenshnitte with fantastic water color portraits of man and woman. This would likely have been a Anniversary gift, Valentine, or simply a love token. There are no names so not likely a marriage announcement. Pennsylvania Dutch or Moravian art likely. The piece is professionally framed and appears mounted on old fabric as where there are losses to the paper there are small foxxing shadows where the missing leaves once were. There is some white photo flash in the pics, it is not in the artwork itself. The frame is newish (maybe 80’s) and its mat shows some discoloration. To me it is still fine condition to hang and certainly keeps the painting and cut out safe. The cut out is of a thick rag like paper. As mentioned, some small pieces are missing but overall amazing that it is still so intact. There is a folded seam showing faintly in the center. The cut out features birds, flora, and trees. The beautiful water color portraits are fantastic. I have supplied very close pics. Please zoom into to see the fine detail and brushstroke in both the portrait faces and in the beautiful heart border and red stripe swag down the center as well as the freely painted lettering and initials. The frame measures 14.5″ x 14.5″. The piece measures approximately 8″ x 8″. This will be expertly packaged with care. This 1830s-40s watercolor and gouache painting on paper measures 13 x 10 ½ framed (add 1 for top ring); 10 x 7 actual and depicts a mom seated in an empire style side chair with her child standing in her lap. The faces are sweet and the details of the clothing are rendered with exacting details. I see no identifying marks or signature. You will note age toning of the paper, some fading of the colors and notable staining away from the image. It is housed in its original rosewood on pine frame with splined back braces. The finish on the frame is original and there is notable age shrinkage causing the splines to project on the edges. The glass is old with expected bubbles and imperfections. The item “Early American Folk Art Painting naïve Portrait Mother Child SWEET Primitive OLD” is in sale since Monday, July 22, 2019. This item is in the category “Art\Paintings”. EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s green, yellow, black, old white, blue, red, brown and bittersweet with black and white numbers around the outside. On the other side, it’s an old red color with no numbers or letters. The numbers on the front side are all 25, 50, or 100. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 30.75 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk!! It’s got tons of character! It has an old screw that goes into a hole for a latch that keeps it closed. The knob appears to be black plastic and is probably newer than the pie safe. Inside there are 3 little wooden dowel shelves. It’s a wonderful white color with lots of patina, paint loss, edgewear, nicks, scrapes, and overall wear. There are many rusty and round nails in it as well as some brighter finish nails here and there around the trim of the screens. Overall, it has an aged patina to it with a little grunge here and there. It’s not perfect but then again, it is! It measures 27″ H x 13.75″ W x 13 D. It weighs 14 lbs. ANTIQUE OLD RAILROAD TRAIN WOOD WALL CABINET ORIGINAL DRY PAINT SQUARE NAILS! Up for sale is this very nice old wall cabinet. It’s aged and worn in all the right Primitive ways! It has one door and lots of shelves inside, with some that are removable. The cabinet was made with square nails as you can see from the closeup pictures. The nails are in the top. It has heavy old Shaker style hinges and hardware with a wooden door pull. We think that this probably dates this cabinet to the 1800’s and perhaps it was an old railroad cabinet. We don’t know the age of this cabinet so you make the call. The door has a big crack in it on the front, and there are some scrapes, nicks, and cracks in the top of it (although you can’t see the top if you hang it on the wall above eye level). The color is a dark drab grey-green color. And the paint has alligator-ed, crackled and patina-ed over time. It makes it very nice and unique looking. Simple, classic but old looking. It’s a railroad cabinet. How do we know? It has 5 old tour/railroad schedules that come with it and there are’rules and regulations’ that appear to be for the Railway Express Agency on the inside of the door. The documents on the inside of the door are very tired, worn and age. Some you can barely read. But the tour/railroad schedules are in great shape and very clear. There are two (4) day tour tickets from July 1st to July 4th, 1950 to Buffalo, NY while the three (5) day tour tickets are to Milwaukee, WI on July 2nd to July 6th, 1947. They both are for the singing group called the Swiss Harmony, which was a male vocal group, and they were traveling from Hudson County to these locations. You can see the train schedules below. Inside the tour tickets, you can see the “tear off” coupons for lunches and dinners. Don’t forget your tickets! The cabinet has some damage on the back where the wood splintered or broke, maybe when somebody took this off the wall or something, we’re not sure. Someone tried to put some newer screws in the back to hold the back on to the cabinet. The back is still loose in some places. There are also some newer smaller shiny nails trying to hold the back on. There are a lot of old round rusty nails in the back also. Who looks at the back anyway? It is a wonderful and one of a kind! The cabinet measures 36.5″ H x 31.5″ W x 11.5″ D at the top and 10.5″ D at the cabinet part. It weighs about 42 lbs. It’s a nice-sized. Cabinet and would be able to be hung on the wall or set on top of a cabinet. We don’t know the age of this item but it looks early to mid 20th century to us. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings, and worn paint/stains as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. We have a number of new items so check out our other items. We will handle them on a case-by-case basis. 21 L ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WOODEN TRENCHER DOUGH BOX ORIGINAL RED AND BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful, old, beautiful wooden trencher dough box. It is rectangular in shape with canted sides with little inlet wooden handles on each end to carry it by. It doesn’t have a lid and likely did not as this one is painted inside with a wonderful Primitive blue-grey, almost a robin’s egg blue in places, color. Sometimes the ones with the painted insides didn’t have lids, that’s why they painted the inside. The color is a beautiful Primitive, almost Ox Blood, red color with wonderful patina, age marks and character marks. Wow, we love the look and all the patina! It looks to have been made from old crates. We can see some crate writing on the side of the box but we can’t read it. It looks in part to say Knudsen’s but we’re not sure. We tried to show this in the last picture. Measures 21.5″ long (at the top) and 17.5″ long (at the bottom) x 9.5″ wide (at the top) and 8″ wide (at the bottom) x 9.25 high measured to the rim. It weighs about 5 lbs. It’s a wonderful, more petite size! This will make a great conversation piece. There’s some nicks, chips, surface imperfections, scrapes, discolorations, fading and edgewear as you can see in the pictures. These “imperfections” add character! It has many character scratches to the interior and spotting or differences in color from age and use. Look at the color, WOW! Inside it’s painted and there are wear marks where the paint has come off. It’s got patina from use on the inside too! The bottom of the box has a crack in it as you can see in the pictures. It’s very clean inside. We have tried to show all of this in the photos. Please look at the photos for a more accurate description and detail. The photos are part of our description so ask lots of questions! It will hold all kinds of seasonal decorations, pumpkins, greens, yarn, fruits, flowers, or even gifts! It is really a beautiful old bowl. The bowls shown in the pictures are not included. Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions.
