The decorations on the box are what really sets it off: the unicorn on the front is adorable and the top decoration actually has some perspective to it. The sides have oversized flowers. This antique folk art portrait was found in France. It has many things going for it: the portrait is painted on a metal panel with clear features and a signature and date. It is housed in an antique black and gilt angular frame of the same period. The combined work is very impressive and will grace any portrait gallery.
