This American primative school oil painting depicts a charming scene, undoubtedly painted from life, of an old house on a wooded and rocky promontory overlooking a lake. The oil is painted on some type of artist board. Painted by a “Sunday artist” as they called the amateur folk painters, perhaps the owner of the house.
