Here is a very hard to find Dee Foust Cat in a display case which us made if a heavy cardboard material. There is the most wonderful Halloween Cat inside case holding the letters “BOO”, on a string. The expression on his face is fabulous. Actually the whole creation is magnificent. The Cat appears to be attached with two screws on bottom of case. He is in excellent condition. The case has some light surface wear with a few scuffs as pictured. What a wonderful addition to your Halloween collection. This is a very RARE item. Measures 11.5″ x 5.5″ x 10. FOLK ART PAINTING BY outsider artist RA MILLER. Miller – Blow Oscar. Item Catalogue # 2393. This piece is on MASONITE. He made art to beautify his yard by cutting out tin pieces and and often combining pieces to form elaborate whirlygigs and functional windscreens and ornamental objects. He began to fashion his brightly painted tin constructions which he attached to stakes in his yard, larger wood assemblages. RA Miller, a southern folk artist, was the youngest of eight children. At 12 years of age he worked in the cotton mill, for 20 years. After his marriage he started preaching over northeast Georgia. After retiring he began to create his own art and whirligigs. He often did patriotic themed art. He used old tin, recycled wood, bicycle parts and scrap metal for materials. He is known for the painted cutouts and drawings. His artwork has appeared in various books and exhibits on Folk Art and in the Band, R. M’s videos His paintings and cut-outs have been shown at the High Museum of Art exhibition Outside the Mainstream: Folk Art in our Time. RA Miller died in 2006. Willie White’s WORK HAS BEEN SHOWN IN NEW YORK AND ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. Willie White was born in 1910 in Natchez, Louisiana, but traveled to New Orleans in 1929. Shortly after he began waiting tables, a profession he held for almost 20 years. He became interested in painting and soon his subjects became fantastic prehistoric birds, alligators, dragons and flying horses. His creatures began appearing in intricate geometric patterns, and his compositions became filled with bright marker color, a medium which he began to work exclusively in after the late 1960s. He is one of the South’s great folk artist of fantasy and innocence, and more importantly, a true New Orleans original. Wonderful early 19th century tin toleware document box. Great folk art look. New York State in origin. Larger than often found, it has a domed hinged lid and is complete with its hinges, top brass handle, and clasp closure. It is wonderfully hand painted with a beautiful mustard yellow and red floral pattern with various painted motifs all around. The left side shows no evidence of paint decoration, and must have either never been painted or it has completely worn off. Measures 9 9 3/4 inches across by 5 3/4 inches deep by 7 1/4 inches tall. Mid 20th Century Oil – Flocking Flamingos. A charming and highly decorative oil in a naive style showing a group of elegant flamingos, gathered in shallow waters under a dramatic darkened sky. The painting is presented in a gilt frame. There is an impasto, naive figurative portrait on the reverse. The painting has heavy paint loss across its entire surface and a light bloom on the paint. The frame has losses to the gilt at all edges. The overall effect is fortunately rustic. Size: 21 x 57cm (8.3″ x 22.4″). Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Old Antique Vtg Dated 1916 Hand Painted Tin Folk Art Retablo Ex Voto Scarce Nice

This offering is for an antique 19th century hand painted tin Retablo Ex Voto. The painting was done in oils on tin and measures app. 7″ X 5″ The artwork features a view of four people on the left kneeling with something in their hands, looks like a stick and each of them has one. To the right is a saint or religious figure. At the bottom is a hand written description that includes a 1916 date in the first line. The condition is very nice with scattered wear, some losses and discoloration pretty much as seems to be typical. There are three tiny nail holes but there are no dents, creases or bends.
