Miniature paint decorated chest with a cut-out bracket base and red and yellow swag and tassel decoration. This box reminds me of painted tinware. The box is a reconstruction made from vintage oxidized pine. The black base paint is original and the paint decoration is a newer addition. It has brass hinges and bumps and bruises and wear. There is paint loss to the front of the box. It measures only 8-3/4″ wide x 5-3/4″ tall x 3-3/4 deep (front to back). Please view all of the pictures and ask any questions that you might have. Early Aafa Antique Folk Art Staved Wood Firkin Original Green Paint

EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART STAVED WOOD FIRKIN ORIGINAL GREEN PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old firkin!! Some people call them sap buckets, pantry boxes, flour buckets or grain measures!! This one has a nice worn deep green sides with black bands! This firkin measure is about. 10.75 in dia at bottom x 9.25 in dia at top and about. 10 h to the firkin and 11.25 h with knob. This firkin is a nice size and is big in character!! The firkin has three bands, one around the bottom, one in the middle and one band around the top of the firkin. Inside, it’s clean for its age and has some staining as you can see. There is not odor to it. The lid it heavy and has more paint loss than the sides of the firkin. The knob is white and is porcelain. The lid is heavy. The firkin has a bale wire and a wooden handle as you can see in the pictures. There’s a little wear spot under where the wood handle comes down on the outside of the green. On the outside is has some areas of paint loss and wear with dry paint, edgewear, streaks, paint loss, paint chips, nicks. There is a lot of edgewear around the bottom of the firkin. RARE antique TRAMP ART folk art curvilinear design picture frame UNUSUAL folky

This antique American tramp art picture frame takes a very unusual and folky shape, rather than using endless rows of rectangular pyramids as most often seen. The maker had a really fine sense of design! Instead of the typical diagonal notches in square-edged layers, these edges are beveled and grooved, creating a fluted effect. The old original shiny varnish is somewhat blistered, forming an attractive patina. There is a rare and perfectly intact carved wooden hanger at top. Although missing several tip pieces, it presents and displays very well, the losses long since oxidized to blend in. Be sure to look carefully at the pictures. The frame is 9 1/2″ x 8″ with a 5 1/2″ x 4″ opening. Main photo shows the truest colors. Perfect for Cottage-core , Mid century modern or traditional decor. A beautiful piece of Americana 20th Century expressionistic realism. Very charming town center scene.. Dont be fooled by the common approach , take a look at that tree trunk and shadow.. Against the white of the clapboard church. Pure Mid-Atlantic/ North East aesthetics. Un-signed, great size at 24×21 (outside dimensions on the frame). Frame is beautiful aged patina White Oak with nice flat finish. Painting is done on board and Im guessing by the looks of it , its mid- century 40s-60s? But Im not sure.
