Very old, antique folk art painting of marine scene. Frame measures 18 1/2 by 22 1/2. This piece has been painted on some kind of paper board and is very fragile. There is one previous repair and has one place above that repair that has a area of split paper. I have not touch this except to stabilize the picture in the frame. There is no glass and paper has a bowing toward the front. I do not know the age or artist, There are some handmade nails first used to put the painting in the frame. The East End Gallery. Really nice hand- painted, signed Latin American, central American, Islander folk art painting on a nice village scene, everyone busy in activities. It is signed by Felix Cortiz. It was painted on what appears to be handmade paper. If you hold it up to the light you can see some pin holes, although I expect this is normal because of the handmade paper. This is out of my usual wheelhouse, but I saw them and thought they looked really supe rand picked them up at an estate sale.
