Old Vintage Mexican Side Table with Original Yellow Paint Carved Top and Turned Legs. We have owned this for about 20 years. It measures 19 1/8 x 19 7/8 across the top. Hand carved top with turned legs and turned spindles around the skirt. The top is split and cupped/warped. Some old dry rot on the foot and we attached a felt patch to one foot to set level. Overall paint wear and some wax drips on the top. The table is strong and does not wobble. A very nice old Mexican table. Carefully packaged and insured. Please see my other listings. With the arrival of video and video cassettes during 1980s In Ghana (West Africa) a small-scale film distribution / mobile Cinema was created. This small size mobile “Cinema” operators were equipped with a television a Video and sometimes with a small portable generator and were moving from town to town from village to village operating and showing their films! (During the day inside social clubs or houses and during the night in the open air). In order to attract more customers and in order to advertise their mission and business the need of huge posters was created and born. Talented artists after viewing the film were creating large size posters using oil paint on canvas (Because of unavailability and high cost of imported canvas , The artists were using used flour sacks sewn together). The artist had the freedom to add or change scenes seen or not seen in the film in order to make the poster more attractive (This is the reason that this hand painted posters are more interesting as ART than the normal posters since each of this hand painted poster is UNIQUE and except the film content it also express the artist himself). These posters were rolled or folded and easy to move around with the mobile Cinema. Because of the posters ” hard ” life (Folded or rolled, under the rain and sun and display for several months during their rounds all over Ghana) most of the surviving posters have damage at the end of the canvas, peelings, cracking and other damages. By the mid 1990s the mobile Cinema business declined and almost collapsed since television and video was more widely available in Ghana. The profits of the mobile Cinema operators were also reduced and they were not able to afford the “expensive” talented artists to paint their posters anymore. Halozan 9-1999″ An Outsider Artist, r enowned for her “Statue of Liberty paintings. She refused to have gallery representation, preferring to be her own boss. Most of her works depicted. A blue-eyed pig-tailed Statue of Liberty. Surrounded by New York symbols, animals, other “things”, and her handwritten thoughts about Peace and New York. She was from Austria and emigrated to the US in 1956. In addition to her iconic. Statue of Liberty, t. His painting includes her handwritten thoughts as well as images of the Good Year blimp, American flag, a sail boat, an unidentifiable animal, a bird, and a baseball player. Aafa Ooak Folk Art Antique Primitive Garden Seat From Doors Alligator Blue Paint

AAFA OOAK FOLK ART ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE GARDEN SEAT FROM DOORS ALLIGATOR BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful one of a kind garden seat made from old doors. It’s an adorable seat with crackly / alligator paint, lots of patina and a great look!! It is blue with layers of paint so it has that thick, many layers look to it. The paint is really chippy and peeling and you should expect some more of the paint to come off in transit or when you pick it up. There are areas where there blue paint, then a little darker blue paint, then some greenish paint and some areas where there is very little paint with wood showing and just a little crackly paint. The seat itself is an old unpainted board with a little scalloped edge under the seat! The grain is all lifted on the wood board as it was likely outside for a long time and was not painted. It’s a very nice decorative piece for any Primitive collection! This would look great in a perrenial garden setting. This is truly a one-of-a-kind item. The step measures 47″ H (to the back) x 30″ W x 18.5 D (at base). The seat is about 18.5 off the floor. We don’t know the age of this item. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. We will do our best to answer your questions. Antique Folk Art Painted Wooden Groceries Sign Lebanon Pennsylvania

A wonderfully painted wooden two sided sign advertising Groceries and Provisions. The sign is painted on an old ironing board probably maple wood, not uncommon as ironing boards made of this material did not warp and were readily available. The sign was painted by Damon Herbel Shuey: 2. Damon Herbel Shuey (6) was born July 15, 1869. In his younger years he worked at coal mines as slate-picker, in the summer and went to school in the winter. He afterwards worked in brick yards, in steel works, saw mills and other hard work. He afterwards took up sign painting and is considered very good. Corner Spruce and Guilford Streets is his residence. The sign is from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Amazing that he signed the piece and to have specific provenance on a hand painted sign is rare. The sign is in excellent condition with more wear to one side as expected form an outdoor sign. As stated painted on a wooden ironing board, 63 1/4″ long x 11 3/4″ wide and 7/8 thick. For sale this week is a gorgeous painting or print. I know that sounds crazy but Im not really sure. It looks like a stunning painting on board and is signed but it has a crackeling like with age, but its too even and exact. Im not an expert so I dont know if there are already crackle boards and people paint on them or a print added on to the board. Two beautiful bunnies having a snack, wonderful scenery. The frame is lovely, very nice floral carvings looks like some light gilding. Small chip on frame please see photo. With white showing at the chip not sure if thats gesso or some other type of composite material. Very large and heavy, a little over 32 1/2 long by 26 1/2 Signed P. Rolenc from what I can make out. What I do know about this is we received it for our wedding in Feb 1999 We hung it for a few years and its been packed away for the rest of the time.
