This is a late 19th to early 20th century hand carved and painted whirligig or weathervane depicting a young slave or farmhand. It has an excellent weathered patina with the original paint. It measures approximately 16″ high, 16″ wide, with a 1.5 depth at the propeller. There are losses to the paint, figure, arrow, and propeller.
